You might want to add the character generation details you supplied somewhere more permanent or easily located.

Disregard. I see that you did, in the Round 1 Rules topic.

Since this is an experimental just-for-fun thing, what do you think about importing PCs from other games? I have a PC called Lug from the [Direction] Marches games who would just love to spend some time brawling. He stretches the upper limit of "reasonable" size, though (he was 6'10", 375# in the previous game). Obviously, I wouldn't expect to bring his equipment, level, and treasure along. But could I have a PC that has his stats and physical characteristics, but is 1st level? FWIW, I rolled him using 3d6 straight up (he has a 4 wisdom).

You know, I think I'm good with that. As long as nobody has an issue with it. I could see people bringing in other characters from other games to try their hand in brawling.

Which brings up the question for you guys. Are you all going to fight on the same side?

I was actually under the impression that we would be battling each other, in a sort of battle royale or king of the mountain-type situation.

I'm totally fine with however you want to run things, though.

I'm all for fighting on the same side. PVP has never really been my thing. But Lug is always game for a friendly fight if everyone else is. :)

I rolled a pretty sturdy 1e half-orc fighter who could go toe-to-toe with whomever - I think.

PvP seems fine to me since there's really no skin in this game; not a big deal to me if Rogg gets knocked out by non-lethal damage!

FYI, here are Lug's stats for everyone's approval. Bringing him in from LL Basic means the numbers that were pretty good there are kind of mediocre here (e.g., a 16 STR in LL Basic gets +2 to hit and to damage; in 1e, that's just +1 damage with no to-hit adjustment), but that's fine:

STR 16 INT 10 WIS 4 DEX 14 CON 15 CHA 13
6'10", 375 lbs.

I totally want to see Lug fight a halfling or a gnome. :D

I also wouldn't object to modifying Lug to conform to AD&D rules (e.g. ability score generation, etc...). Not my call, though.

I think Lug will fit right in. As long as he can get through the door. As I said, I'm going for more of a fun experiment. Let's see who can take Lug down. I may just have to toss in a couple NPC ringers. :D

I'm working on the set and drawing up more NPCs. I don't want you all to be lonely at the bar.

Can I get a height and weight for those who haven't weighed in yet?

I've got the set and the NPC's done. Almost ready to ring the bell.

6 feet, 200 pounds. I'll update character sheet.

Final touches:
  • I posted it in the round 1 rules, but here it is again. I'm probably not going to check up often, but in case it helps I've set up a campaign in the roller.
    Campaign ID is 805
  • What kind of armor are Rogg and your unnamed character, dave, wearing?
  • I'm going to post an image with token pictures soon. Please choose one for your character.

In 1e half-orcs are not as large as 5e. According to the DMG page 238 max height for a male half-orc is 5' 10" and max weight would be 190 lbs. Its interesting, the odds of a half orc being max weight is least of all races 1 in 22,222 (45% chance of heavier than average and 150+4d10 lbs). Being 5' 10" is a much more common 1 in 16. The height and weight charts in 1e are definitely goofy and no version of D&D including the current has a system that makes sense from a real world stand point for humans anyways.

This is kind of how I picture Lug:

Although Andre the Giant in The Princess Bride would also work. :)

Rogg might be D8. He wears studded leather armor and gauntlets. He's 5'10" and 190 lbs.
