Ok, report submitted to the Navy Base. Once that's done I assume you send the Scouts on their way after their quarantine? The Navy thanks you for your report. On your recommendation, the Navy isn't going to do anything unless the spiders actually threaten Imperials. They will mount surveillance. They do give the Scouts a stern warning about stirring stuff up, but as they were operating well outside the Imperial perimeter on Arthiop, there's not much they can actually do officially to reprimand them or impose other consequences.

Also on everyone's mind is the news that has just come in that civil war has broken out on Cheapside.

You still want to host House Salazar? If so, I think that's the next thing to resolve.

Auntie is happy to continue to work with the Vargr, but you should also think about his disposition.

The scouts are indeed sent on their way.

Unless there is a pressing need to host House Salazar Foix won't push it. That's unless he discovers some Intel (or gossip via his Aunt) that suggests he should increase diplomatic efforts in their direction.

He will gather any Intel possible on the civil war on Cheapside and the goals of the participating forces.

Meanwhile, now he's free of his duties towards the Imperium, Foix sets himself to instructing the Vargr in the use of the SMG.

As far as Foix is concerned the vargr should probably be "put back where we found him" trained and equipped to help his folk against the spiders with a crate each of food, SMGs and ammo (and reflec armour if the Naval Base has any).

It will take time to train the Vargr to SMG-0, and then for a crate of SMGs to be useful, you would have to train more Vargr also.

Indeed. Foix is hoping that either the vargr can cascade the training to his cohorts or will see the value of letting someone to whom Foix has delegated the task train the "fighting age" folk of his entire pack/tribe.

Ok, best bet would be to find someone here who can do the training, you should be able to manage that. You of course can use the Kiara Surabi's shuttle to re-insert the Vargr and the trainer.

The information out of Cheapside is:

There are rumors of civil war on Cheapside. The situation is getting worse down there, the Lord Pedrarch, commander of the Army attacked Lord Stearns, guardian of the gate (the entrance to the star port) with a company of infantry and three heavy tanks just after we lifted. The squad of Imperial Marines is holding the star port for now, hopefully the hostilities will stay out of the star port.

Having made decisions on House Salazar and the vargr the team are now free to travel to Damkina with the goal of learning more of any developments in House Foix politics (if any).

If House Salazar's goals coincide with those of House Foix then Foix will "sub contract" the vargr training to them. He, of course, ensures the vargr are aware that their help originates with House Foix though!

He will then contact Lady Alicia and get an Intel update on anything he needs to know on House Salazar. She also gets to present "her" vargr and ideas about the Temple to another noble House and so at least gets the fun of that.

He advises the crew there will be a lunch and "talks" with House Salazar. They are, of course, all invited to attend should they wish.

House Salazar will accept with the Count Irenio Salazar and his security chief Senor Enrique Salazar attending.

The Lady Alicia doesn't have anything remarkable about House Salazar. They have a solid reputation and have always been supportive of House Foix.

Foix gives a self mocking smile before replying "It seems my administration benefits from seeking advice from experts and so I would have you attend and advise me on any naval aspects of the coming discussions. I also wish to know the likely Imperial response to any issues that arise. Otherwise your duties are to use your skills in the service of the House. I would be grateful for help instructing the vargr".

He continues "However, firstly I recall you took a laser shot from the spiders at same time as I did and so your vacc suit will need repair and safety testing. My aunt will provide you a suit from ship's stores. Of course that is if you don't object to wearing House livery, Commander?"
