Epilogues and Codas

#1 Post by Zhym »

The game is shutting down, with the current expeditions frozen where they are. But that doesn't mean our characters' stories are over! Here is a thread where you can bring your PCs' stories some closure, if you want.

What happened to your PCs after the the events of this game? Did they live happily ever after? Did they come to a bad end due to some character flaw? Use this thread to post your PCs' fates!

You could also use this thread to spill some secret details about your PCs, if you want.

Fingers continues adventuring for a while. Those who travel with him note an unusually strong bond between the boy and his dog, as if the dog were more like a wizard's familiar than an ordinary pet.

After a few more raids profitably relieving the dead of items they no longer need, he retires to the life of a modestly wealthy merchant. His banking and secondhand magic enterprises eventually pay off; his new status as a respected and powerful merchant—together with his possession of a magical scrying device—serve as perfect cover for his other role as lord of the thieves' guild and master of spies for the Archduke.

Sprinkles lives a long and contented life, full of critters to chase and happily lacking in deep, spiky pits.

Lady Halfpint was hoping to work with the faeries to identify and clear the forest of baddies. She was to then found Halflington Acres*, a planned community north of Gaul that would bring Halflings in mass to the area.

For now, she will take some time to finally grieve Peck, the pony who was eaten by trogs early in the game.

Markd would have eventually rebuilt the city into a thriving metropolis and rid the world of that evil white-tower squatting Bremen.

With Rusty gone, it kinda made that feud a bit one-sided.

Assuming Fingers didn't accidentally turn the whole city into a new grove for Beith. ;)

The feud between Markd and Bremen was truly epic and enjoyable. That's what good games are made of.

Yes, Bremen did actually sell his soul for power over men. Markd was right all along, but cursed as he is, nobody believed. A Cassandra's tale.

I give credit to Markd as well. His perpetual curse making everyone treat him with repugnance was a wonderful and novel explaination for rolling a 3 Charisma. It added so much to the game. I actually have a end goal - he had to humble himself and admit his original sin to Eruanna, and it could have been broken. He chose to NEVER pursue it, keeping the hindrance.

The druid tree would have been contained in a single estate by the magic (noteably intact!) Walls of the estate. It would have permanently established Beith's place there which would have had ramifications for Markd... The druids can "tree walk" (teleport) between the trees and come from anywhere to pester him.

Are the other estates’ walls also intact? It would be kind of interesting to set up different estates as domains of various gods.

Baxtaw spent his time within the Wizard guild. Studying spells trying to create new ones.

Neegan heads to the Dwarven halls he adventures for many more years, but only to the aid of his king.

Casper White retires to the Dwarven settlement of Idmi d'dum where he continues his work as a servant of Gwanwen. He will blend in as much as a human can, blessings births and deaths and expeditions with sacrifice and prayer. For without the shedding of blood, there can be no blessing.

Casper will continue to research the old Dwarven tomes, translating into the Common tongue as necessary. He will send letters to the surrounding communities, requesting tomes and items needing research. He will look to take on one or two acolytes to assist him.

His mule, Ted, will also retire and enjoy his days grazing, eating carrots, and the occasional countryside walk.
Winter is coming...

Sir Piers Garret continues to serve as a knight of the Duke for several more years. Age and experience mellow his youthful pomposity, though he never tires of wearing his Red Dragon-scale armor.

Eventually he decides to settle down. Having grown up in a family that lived on nothing but past glories, it dawns on him that he has once again added some lustre to the Garret name. Sir Piers retreats into semi-retirement at his Abbey in Frogmorton Ford. He marries, has children, adds to his lands and grows older, serving Baudh as he is able.

Tollander Kane continues to wander the North Marches. Wherever he goes, he searches for clues as to the location of The Orb of Endless Suffering and the whereabouts of a man called Sir Justin...

I dont really know the significance of diety problems, other than Markd hated Euranna. He obviously wouldn't have ever taken that pardon deal, hoping that someone powerful enough in the Baudh camp would have figured a way to remove it. at least, that was his eternal hope.
Eventually he would have swatted the rest of those gargoyles so Owen the Warhorse would have a nice safe courtyard to practice warring.
