Zuul

"HAHAHA! You hear them? They called you guyss limited brain alienss! He'd be insulted if that wass said to him." Zuul laughs heartedly. He grabs his new pike and walks over to the docking hatch.

"He'll go out first, then stay with the ship. Better for the limited brainss to negotiate." Zuul will exit first to make sure it isn't a trap, then guard the Kestrel.

Dankayo system, far orbit of planet Dankayo 7, location of (former) Alliance Base, aboard Squib Momma-ship Thrifty

As the team of Rebel Agents power down their weapons and move along side the strange Squib ship, Vale Starcloud closes his eyes and reaches out with the Force using his 'Empathy' power and he senses wariness, humor, good-naturedness, avarice and an overwhelming sense of confidence among these aliens....

As the Nova Kestrel moves along side the docking ring of the Thrifty, the Alliance team gets a closer look at the strange ship and they can see that is made up of dozens of salvaged parts, cunningly put together into a bizarre looking, but quite sturdy and agile vessel. Numerous tractor beam projectors of various sizes are being utilized to hold a cloud or trash quite close to the ship....nothing that seems particularly valuable, but nonetheless, these aliens CLEARLY hold it in some kind of esteem. With a clang and a hiss, the docking tube connects to the Rebel ship and a seal is made.....

The Rebels open their hatch and move across to board the Squib ship; the tall Barabel and Wookie having to duck their heads to enter through the hatchway and they feel the ceiling right above them as they come aboard to see quite a bizarre chamber painted in garishly bright orange colors and a pair of barely 1 meter tall aliens keeping a close eye on them and leveling a grapnel launcher and some kind of wide-bore slug-thrower respectively at them while wearing a grin having a mischievous look in their bright yellow eyes. A third member of the blue-furred, big eared, schnauzer-faced alien race stepped forward and spoke up....

Image

"Greetings ill-favored strange ones! The Illustrious Chieftain-of-all-Junkyards and Commander of the Thrifty; King Ebarbavbeedee-" (pronounced E-bar-bav-bee-dee), "-bids you welcome to his Momma-ship. Right this way"; he ends and spins and moves quickly down a garishly yellow painted corridor that winds its way to another door, leading the Rebels past numerous other Squibs, all of whom stare quite brazenly at the strange, tall aliens and all wearing grins even as they utter insulting comments such as; "Wow....these be some FAT aliens"; and "Maybe they're so wasteful because the blood can't find its way to their too-tall brains". The guide keeps a brisk pace and within moments, they are ushered into a much larger room, complete with a raised platform holding a chair....

The 'throne room' of the Squib Momma-ship is an incredible array of recycled ornaments and cheap gadgets. Gorgeous and tacky mosaics are formed from broken drickle-fruit jars and boxed food packaging labels; light displays made up of flickering exciters of burned-out signal lasers are clustered together into some kind of.....art pieces.....and various swaths of brightly colored cloth are haphazardly attached to the walls and ceilings in a chaotic manner. The room however is DOMINATED by the raised platform against the opposite wall from where they entered and the spinning chair that was clearly removed from an old Z-95 'Headhunter' Starfighter cockpit and is now serving as a throne to an older Squib with a graying muzzle and some kind of 'crown' made up of broken bits of foil and one time kitchen utensils. This is King Ebarbavbeedee.......

The older squib speaks up, "So, tall, overweight aliens of limited brainy-ness; we of the lofty Squib greet you in the name of universal buddy-buddy-ness and irrespecutful of differences in station, we will engage in the Good Deal ceremony with you". He speaks in a serious tone and as he ends his statement, he looks at the Rebels in an expectant way and all of the Squib chatter stops and the room is suddenly quiet as all eyes and ears are turned towards the Alliance agents....

As the Rebels are being led down the corridor, Clark cannot help but think it would have been better to leave someone on board the ship to make sure nothing goes missing. As it is, he keep careful mental note of his personal belongings.

"Greetings, great King Ebarbavbeedee of the lofty Squib," Clark replies after the King's speech. "Obviously, being of lesser mind, I do not know the correct ceremonies of the Good Deal but I am willing to learn, as we are eager to make a deal".

Jackson was going to say something but checks himself before he utters anything. The professor is speaking for them better than anyway Jackson could.

Cal looks around to see what he notices about how the ship is laid out, and how it might operate.

Zuul

Zuul opens his mouth to say something, but a nagging sensation to wait wins out. He settles for staring at the creatures and assessing their weaponry.

Vale

Vale stands beside Clark silently, attempting to look wise and kind, yet powerful. He knows the professor already has vastly more experience in this sort of interaction than anyone else on the ship, and he remembers stories from his master about how the Jedi of the Republic helped broker peace and goodwill between parties, by acting as escorts and advisors to their ambassadors.

King Ebarbavbeedee looks first at Kit with a bit of confusion and then turns to the others and says; "Is big white-furred one talky-talky or is she just hungry and saying we lofty Squib look tasty?" Some of the other nearby Squib chuckle while the 'King' then looks at Professor Clark, clearly the chosen spokesmen of the Rebel Agents and grunts and shakes his head....

"Being so big and heavy clearly must come at cost of losing brains", he says with a dramatic sigh and then with a cough, he continues; "So...you want place-numbers for Empire ship.....whatcha willing to deal for them? Let the Good Deal ceremony commence*..."

*kipper, I'm going to send you a PM on how to handle this

Clark's brain quickly scrambles to think about what sort of useless junk we've got aboard. "Well, you know what we want, but I don't know what you want. Why don't you tell me what you want."

King Ebarbavbeedee just shakes his muzzle at Professor Clark and replies; "Perhaps your fellow big aliens should've chosen a smarter member to bargain" he tsks, but then continues with; "Okay, first you shave off all of really tall one's white fur-"; here he nods towards Kit; "-make nice warm blanket from it, then we'll give her a nice coat made out of super comfortable foil sheets so she don't freeze at night; then you make nice dricklefruit cake for sending off celebration; we'll provide bestest, yummy joliva cocktails; then you take your ship and recover quest object from Paradise System and when you bring back to us, we'll give you place-numbers for Imperial ship. You go"; he ends while looking at the probably baffled Rebel Academic expectantly....

"Hmmm. Let's just skip the ceremony then. But I want to hear more about this quest object in the Paradise System, maybe we can do that for you. What is it?"

Ebarbavbeedee clicks his tongue in a reproving manner; "No ceremony? You aliens are almost as fun-less as the Ugors. Okay, so blanket from white-fur is do-able? If not...how about a section of scales from that one-"; here he nods towards Zuul; "-bet that would make super awesome boots, you bet!" He seems to revel in the thought of boots made from the Barabel's hide for a moment before coming back to the present; "Oh, no need to worry about quest object, we'll send along guide to point it out. You go" he says again while looking back at Clark.....

"No blanket, no boots." Clark replies. "We are in a hurry and do not have time for those. Just the quest object. But we want the numbers quickly. Why only send one guide, why don't you all come with us to the Paradise System and that way you can get your quest object right away? Or better yet, you can give us the numbers first, and then we will get your quest object later?"

The King smiles and replies; "FINALLY you get into spirit of The Good Deal! Okay, okay, no boots, no blanket....in a hurry; hmmm.....your tall ones (he nods towards both Kit'katarra and Zuul) help move ceiling art to better spot-"; here he points up to a positively garish multi-colored blanket mounted on the ceiling above the Rebels; "-and we send guide with you to get quest object from Paradise System, which is quite close but we can't handle this as we're super-busy-busy right now; then when you return with it we give you place-numbers. Deal?"

"OK, we can help you move the art as long as it will only take a few minutes. If it takes longer than 5 minutes, we will have to re-negotiate. Are you going to remain here while we're getting the quest object? We don't want to return and find you gone and have to chase you down. How about you give the guide the numbers, so we can get them as soon as we retrieve the quest object."

The Squib 'King' smiles at Clark and says; "Yes...for ones of such size, it should only take but a moment to move the art piece. Here, pull down on the corners to have mag-tacks disengage, then move right over.....here"; he directs Zuul and Kit'katarra, both of whom tend to glare daggers at the little blue-furred alien who suggested having them remove all of their fur or part of their hide, but both did what was asked and it was indeed only a matter of a few minutes of time.

Then Ebarbavbeedee looked again at Clark and said; "I like you alien....but I don't trust you THAT much. Spilferifthimous will guide you to the Paradise System and back here, where we will wait, but he will NOT know the place-numbers; so don't go being super mean-mean baddie-guys since it won't help you." With this, the 'King' calls out over his shoulder; "Get Spilfer and gift of bargain-closing"; and then he returns his gaze to the Rebels' chosen negotiator. "Guide will point out quest object when you get to Paradise System; you retrieve, bring it back here and we give you place-numbers for Empire ship. Great Art of deal is made", he concludes on a solemn note and nods his head.

A moment later, a young Squib wearing a hat with various bottle caps and pieces of foil sewn onto it, a bandoleer full of small pouches, a hold-out Blaster pistol hanging from a hook on the hip end of the bandoleer and what looks like a half-meter long grasper claw is hooked onto the back of the bandoleer appears; along with a strange looking Droid.....

Spilfer looks eager and happy to see the Rebels, but he straightens up and gets serious looking when Ebarbavbeedee calls out to him. "Spilferithimous, you are to be guide to Paradise System for these new alien buddy-buddies we made as part of a Great Deal that was just struck between us. They are to retrieve THE Quest Object from the Paradise System, then return here with it and we will give them place-numbers for Empire Ship that Agent Dano gave us. You understand?" Spilfer nods and replies; "Yes sir your Kingly-ness; I'll do a great job for you, you bet!" Ebarbavbeedee nods and replies; "Good, go forth and go great deals!"

With that, the younger Squib excitedly looks at each Rebel and says; "Hey there! I'm Spilfer, let's get going on your ship and go on this quest, you bet!" Belatedly, he turns back; "L-9, follow me"; the strange Droid just slowly trots after the Squib, who is now talking with his fellows about where the Rebel's ship is, and then moving towards the docking tube connecting the two ships. The Rebels hurry after them and JUST manage to get back aboard their own ship before the Squib and the Droid do.

Once everyone is back on board the Nova Kestrel, Cal detaches the ship and they move away from the Thrifty and Spilfer gives the coordinates for the Paradise System to the Rebels; which according to the Navicomputer, is only a few hours jump thru hyperspace away.....

(This concludes Episode One, Episode Two's first post to come later today/tonight!)
