Westbridge to Beliard "Oh, good sir," Helmaer says, hailing Roderick before the group and the wizard part ways. "In Beliard, please pay August a visit at his farm first thing. If anyone will have information about Jane's whereabouts if she went that way, he will."
The group departs Westbridge, heading east toward Beliard.
Almost as soon as you leave the town gate, a dust cloud on the trail ahead of you cause some alarm, but it turns out to be a simple merchant caravan -- arriving from Beliard. One member of the caravan, a soft-spoken elven woman named Alexa, claims she needs to return to Beliard immediately, and requests your escort as it seems her other companions have no interest in such a quick return trip.

I actually had much of the above saved as a draft from before the last post for Dorobo. The actions in that post will require a considerable amount of time (many hours, if not days). I'm fine to delay this departure from Westbridge if the group wants to remain behind and continue to explore there.
Please discuss and come to an agreement in the OOC thread.
Delgrot looks a bit confused as well. "Aye what do yah mean returned so soon?"

I am Alexa Fairenguard. I recently realized someone at the inn in Westbridge took something from me. I left my pack by the counter while I was having breakfast and squaring my tab. I noticed a shady looking man lingering near the bar but the rest of the caravan guards arrived and I lost track of him. I went to draw my father's old silver dagger and noticed it was gone. Sheath is still secured on my pack but the dagger is long gone. I need to go back and see if I can locate the thief.
My manners. As I said I am Alexa fairenguard, Locksmith and Wizard. I travel an collect spells when I can find them. It is an honest living but getting harder to make ends meet so I took a job as a guard and since they are here. Is it OK to travel back with you fellas? I won't be any trouble. Study my spells and share the watches.
My face was scarred by a dagger when I was a child. My brother's friend tried to rob me of my virtue and used a dagger to torture me to get me to give up my father's money location. I gutted him with his own dagger and ended up getting blamed for his murder, but was released by the town guard after they saw my face and being held against my will and all.

Roderick is intrigued. "A theft, you say? We shall track down this miscreant and ensure that they are brought before the law to answer for their crime!"
He gives the elf another look and sees that she is positively festooned with daggers. "I can't help but wonder, though—was the stolen dagger special? You seem to have plenty more where that one came from."
Delgrot the cleric looks a bit troubled at some of Alexa's story then adds his own little insight to the tale "Well it is a different path you take in your trail in life but at least you life to tell the tale."

As I said it was my father's dagger. I do not know who he is so it was a keepsake. It was silver with a green gem in the pommel.
And yes good fellow I have turned from that life. Collecting and selling spells to wizard is a most profitable profession but it sometimes has a long time between pay offs. Spells for spells increases my knowledge but one has to eat too. I used to make spell books and was an apprentice for a while too.

Who is this Jane and where is she missing from? I know several people in Beliard I can ask around when we get there. One of my friend's may have seen her. Is there a wizard among you? I have a few spells I would be willing to traded if anyone is willing.

I have given up that way of violent life to be more refined. I just love finding new spells and seeing the effects brought to life. Are any of you Mages that might like to trade a spell or two on our journey? I have a few good ones, but just getting started collecting really.
How long before you are all departing?

Huge Centipedes
The group welcomes Alexa into their ranks as the female elf requests their company as she intends to return to Beliard in search of her father's dagger, which she fears was lifted from a local tavern.
Sticking to the well-traveled Stone Trail makes travel on your first day uneventful and allows Alexa and the rest of the group ample opportunity to exchange information and familiarize themselves with each other. The newcomer and Nexus also discuss the possibility of sharing knowledge as both are practitioners of arcane magics.
Please feel free to discuss here or in the OOC thread whether or not you have spells to exchange. The only requirements being available pages in your spellbooks (or loose paper/parchment) plus the material components needed in order to actually cast it.

An overnight watch is established and followed without incident with the group waking at first sunlight the following morning. After a brief breakfast and normal preparations, the group sets off again, continuing to follow the Stone Trail.
The first couple hours of your second day of travel presents no unexpected surprises, but that all changes a few hours after sunrise. When what looked like a simple, melon-sized rock on the side of the road is disturbed, it uncovers a nest of wild centipedes.
The swarming gray arthropods with chitinous shells -- each about a half-foot in length -- are difficult to get a count of due to their overlapping, undulating movement, but you guess there are between 15 and 20 in total -- all swarming towards the group!
A few notes:
Everyone please deduct one ration for day 1;
A map will be forthcoming; I don't want to delay posting this because I haven't had a chance to build it;
Darklin2, I added details for Alexa in my footer information, below. Please take a look and let me know if anything looks incorrect.
