Service record, annotated

After her midshipman’s cruise as a cadet, Prerna earned an ensign’s commission in the Sword Worlds Confederation Navy in 1080, where she was assigned to Adm. Fritz Krueger’s Joyeuse Fleet, 12th Cruron, aboard the Waco-Class Strike Cruiser “Abilene”. She was promoted to Lieutenant j.g. while serving in several departments on the command career track.

In 1088, after serving with distinction for almost eight years, Prerna was involved in a duel with a superior officer. Although dueling was technically legal, her dead opponent’s family was politically connected, and she was accused of murder. As part of a plea deal, she was confined to a low berth for four years, and released in 1093. She was dishonorably discharged from the Navy immediately afterwards.

An uncle of hers referred Prerna to a mercenary company operating out of Torhold on Joyeuse in 1094, where she excelled and was promoted to the rank of Captain. By 1102, she had risen to the rank of Major, where she commanded her own company of Recon scouts. Prerna also attended sniper school, where she earned an Expert ranking on several sniper rifles.

Prerna decided to transfer to an Imperial merc unit because she thought she had found her true love in a dashing commander she’d met during a series of cooperative missions. The relationship soured when Prerna was caught with another lover, who had also embroiled her in a smuggling ring. The jilted lover pushed for a reduced sentence, and Prerna served seven months in a local jail.

She now has the clothes on her back, and enough credits for a meal.

I believe she was initially broke on character generation but she could quite rightly now draw on the merc account - she is due her pay for the last contract.

Otherwise she might have a few hundred dusty credits left residing in her account from prior to going inside - with no access to comms in prison to withdraw money it would have been "incarcerated" for as long as her last stint inside.
