Not at all.....Vale can learn a new Power for the cost of 5 Skill Points.....whatcha have in mind?

Okay, I'm thinking Force Push since I keep trying that and it never works out well, plus Accelerate Healing (eventually I hope to search for the secrets of the rare Accelerate Another's Healing). That should leave 5 points, so I'll bump Alter up to 4D+1 and leave 1 point in reserve.

If we're really going our own way with the New Republic instead of sticking with EU or Disney (which I think is a cool way to go) then maybe a background campaign goal of our Jedi club could be to have an audience with Skywalker and see what needs to be done to help him restore the Order and start up a new Jedi Academy.

That is an excellent idea. We could then be a search party of sorts, out looking to identify potential recruits.

Also, I'm fine keeping Kato as a Jedi Wannabe without any real powers. It sure would be cool if he could wield a lightsaber without hurting himself or (unintended) others, though. But maybe that's a long term goal.

In the meantime, some kind of martial-arts style weaponry could be cool.

I know—and basically any long stick-like martial arts weapon is going to be the same thing. Basically a quarterstaff (or gaffee stick), plus flavor.

Okay, in the theme of Kato being a wannabe, he doesn't have a lightsaber. He has a light saber. Like an actual sword. (In the meantime, Kato will train under Vale more or less IC).

Here's an equipment loadout:
Sporting Blaster Pistol: 600
Light Saber (sword): 50
Stun Staff: 350

Macrobinoculars: 150
Commlink: 100
Rations, 10 days: 100
Casual clothes (robe, "martial arts" clothes): 50
Chronometer: 25
Synthrope, w/ grapple: 10
Sleeping bag: 10

Total: 1,445

And let's have him upgrade these skills:
Stamina to 3D+2 (3)
Survival to 3D (2)
Melee Weapons to 5D+1 (5)

Okay, with the loss of Jackson there really isn't anybody in the group who has much in the way of Starship Piloting skills at all so I'm going to say that Kael and Kit will have received some training from Jackson and somebody at the Alliance/New Republic base at Oasis......so Rex and Ateno, one of you will get a free +2 in Starship Piloting and Astrogation and the other will get a free +2 in Systems Operation and Shields.

Ship Repair and Tech skills in general are also going to be a problem....but maybe I'll have a Droid (that stays on the ship) can be the solution to that.
