OOC Discussion

#1 Post by Marullus »

I am really excited about Thanksgiving this year. We have family coming from out of state and that's really rare.

What's everyone else up to?

Some of it is orienteering and map work. Then we have a couple of dummy rescues with fake casualties needing evacuation. We also have a charity bash for the local air ambulance with a 'tough mudder' race across the fells and finally I do some work with hiking, scout, adventure groups on trekking during winter and preparation . A beautiful sunny day in the valley of tens entices hikers in minimum outdoor ware to trek into the peaks and suffer hypothermia, year after year.

On Ben Nevis, we hold refresher courses for mountaineers who scale snow covered faces unaware of avalanche threats.

I'ventured dealt with stupid deaths over the years, even from experienced climbers who should know better. Last spring in the Peaks a number of school kids got hurt falling down a steep hillsudecafter standing on the edge and leaning into the wind. When the wind stopped blowing hard they simply lost balance and fell. They were copying some TV adverts of similar activity unaware or ignorant of the extreme danger.

Oh, are we starting this soon?

Sounds like fun. In my long ago youth I was a wilderness EMT and I competed in Orienteering for 3 years in college. I have been spending every weekend camping out for hunting season since mid October.

Hi folks!

It's been about a month since we last heard from Enoch. Is this turning out to have been too much of a deviation from "regular" Torchbearer to make it work? I'm certainly still hoping that things will get back on track...

I spoke to Enoch last week - he got swamped by the holidays. Not sure what his determination for this game is. I'm sure he'll post soon.

Guys I am going to pull out of this game. It clearly hasn't taken off and despite much input into character creation I am no further on than having a character waiting for something to happen since months before Christmas.

Best wishes.

I am loathe to see interest in Torchbearer go unrewarded and I think the concept here developed really awesome.

If Enoch is dropping, would you like me to transition over and I will run this for the rest of you? I can probably work that out in a few weeks. I'll drop my characters, of course, and am open to a replacement player.

Your thoughts?

I was thinking I could step in an run something. I've been running a Torchbearer campaign for over a year in real life.

If someone wants to run it that is fine with me, it doesn't matter who to me.

I would much rather play if you want to pick up and run, Bill. :). I would rather run it than have it not happen, though. Are you comfortable picking up this setting and these characters?

I don't know exactly what the setting was supposed to be, so I would shift it into another place. As for characters, I'd have to see what they are, but I think any of the "standard" classes would be fine. I.e. no Servitors, Astral Knights, etc.

I'm comfortable with all the characters and setting posted here. I can run or play.

Are other players interested? What are your preferences?
