Hope you guys all had a good weekend. Ed, hope you had a great birthday. I just want to say I'm really enjoying AD&D 2e, this the most fun I had!

Re: Q&A: All things out of character continued again
I'm just glad this game has had the lower player turn-over compared to some of my other games. Plus that players are enjoying it I always question myself overly much wondering if I am doing a decent job and keeping players entertained (properly). Thanks for the B-Day wishes.
On a side note I ran part of the Fighter's Challenge with my 12 y.o. son two weeks ago he was surprised how long we played and only got maybe half way he just kept pushing to keep going we played for like 4 to 5 hours. All I was doing was proving a point that you can play D&D with only 1 player and a DM. I am glad he enjoyed it but wish he would ask to keep playing some time soon.

Sounds like fun. Maybe nudge him a bit, just sort of mention it or ask how he thought it went.

Also meant to add that I did put loot and XP up for the goblin scouts and now the gnoll ambush. The XP bonus is for kills any character regardless of class is given the 50 xp kill bonus that normally is only issued to warrior classes. I know it is not relative to most of the other classes and might encourage murder hobo actions. But I was just trying to find a way to give other classes more bonus xp rather than trying to grant it based on thief skill success, and spells and what not.

I am fine with it. One of the things I don't usually care for in D&D is how XP are awarded, so really don't care if you feel the need to go off the rails.

But in other games and possibly even on here in the past I also rewarded creative IC thinking/strategies as well as post that just amused me immensely. I guess that is what you get with a strange DM like me.

Both are good ideas and I have done both in games before.

Re: Q&A: All things out of character continued again
I'm still learning AD&D 2E. So I'm perfectly fine with either method of XP. This game's pacing is more of my liking, not too slow nor too fast. It can be forgiving if you have a lot of stuff going on in your personal life and you can always catch up pretty quick. Some games I played before arriving here were fast. I could miss a day and the session has advanced too far for me to keep up so I end up leaving the party.

I added the magic battle axe to Egon weapon list. Let me know if anyone is going to take his +1 Scimitar.
