Allan goes to work to look for traps and locks.

Searches the ghouls and wight. He looks for items like amulets and rings.

He will guard the closed door making sure we are not surprised by any wandering zombies.

The chests are unlocked and you find no traps. The ghouls and the wight have nothing on them

With his dagger at the ready, Phil will first open the left chest, and then the right.

the second chest is filled 1/2 way with gold coins and sitting on top is a bag of nigh black sackcloth

Phil takes the bag over to the desk, and empties the contents onto it.

Are Sandy and Ruthgar doing any better?

In the room away form the crystal they feel somewhat better but still feel its drain.

Phil calls Ruthgar over to look at the scrolls and vials, while he searches behind the tapestry.

Ruthgar will take a look at the scrolls and vials. Looks to be a decent haul.

one of the scrolls is a protection from air elemental, the other is something you cant read.

Ruthgar will relate his findings on the scrolls to his comrades. The vials... we'd need a wizard or the like to look at these, obviously magic or poison though. Would be foolhardy to drink without some kind of inspection.

Ruthgar will double the inspection of the room. He will:
-Overturn the chair and inspect.
-Remove all the drawers from the desk, inspecting in detail.
-Inspect the remaining desk in detail. Moving it as well.
-Inspect the tapestry.

I think we can leave this place for now, the underground, but should take the gem. Not sure how it can be carried without without its aura... maybe return with some henchmen and large quantity of oil? Burn out that cavern of undead we came across?

Watches as the others search. He waits as Moony recovers. The tapestry, looks moldy. Does it show any specific picture? A cleric doing a ritual or perhaps a map or location? He will cut it down from the wall.

Phil I agree, we should leave this place for now. We should move back to the cleric's room to heal up enough for the trip back to town, where we can report the hunter's fate. And come back with oil and holy water for that cavern of zombies. I fear that there is more vileness here that needs dealt with.


And a plan for burning them that works better than the one we used upstairs!!!

Ruthgar:

Sandarin and I cannot travel close to the gem, but it needs to come with us. I am theorizing it may be the root of evil in this place. Sandarin and I took specific vows to our respective lords that makes us.... a point of interest for the stones power. If left here, the gem may make its way into someone or somethings hands, propagating a new influence of evil. Any thoughts on how we take it with us without endangering us?
