Day 2, Turn 5 - The Grand Pipe/The Trapped Troll


Trootz continues to desperately try to nab a "munchie" going "Mwha, mwham, nwam" with his tongue as Pol passes by to join his brother on the other side.

When both brothers are safely on the other side, Trootz's (freaking huge) dim-witted eyes look at Theket and after a moment he answers his question.

"Trootz stuck here! You cutz me noze, I grows again somewheres elses. What Trootz givez ya for choppin'?..."

An expression of great intellectual effort (a terrible sight to behold on a troll, especially one this huge) comes over Trootz's face. is as if he is terribly constipated.

"Hmmmmm....Hhhhmmmm...urrrrr...Hmmm...HMMMMMMMMNNG!.....I knowz! I knowz!!" he suddenly shouts with an enlightened expression. "You cutz da nose and Trootz will eats ya last...deal?"

Lipput just shakes his head at both the stuck Troll and his brother. Glancing at Theket firmly he says; "NO, don't make any deals wid Trolls trying to eats youse." With that he will hug the wall and slip past the Troll and stand with his brothers who have already slipped past....

A look of disappointment crosses Theket's face at Lipput's words, and the tip of his scimitar drops a bit.
Theket then does like his brother Lipput and squeezes past the troll.

Day 2, Turn 5 - The Grand Pipe/The Trapped Troll


Imitating their first brother, eventually all the half-orcs cross over to the other side. Each time a brother is hugging the wall and passing in front of Trootz that animalistic look takes over him and his togue darts out trying to grab a "munchie". The creature must really be hungry! And it gets angrier and more desperate with each passing morsel that it fail to nab. By the time the whole party is one the other side Trootz is just cursing, hissing and spitting to himself making an awful ruckus.

Lipput just shakes his head and shutters a bit at the sight of the stuck head spitting and tyring to bite/tongue/spit on them. Even for a tough Half orc Warrior/Thief; he's pretty sure this will be something that will haunt his dreams for a long while to come. "C'mon youse guys...let's find dat crystal"; he mutters to his brothers....

Ull nods. Agreed. This is getting rather too scary for the rest of you, I can tell. Ull continues down the pipe.

Day 2, Turn 6 - The Grand Pipe/The Trapped Troll


Leaving behind the gigantic Trootz and his tentacular tongue the brothers continue their journey, advancing down the large pipe and trusting only their orcish infravision to guide them. After the troll has been lost from sight and hearing they begin to hear a new noise. Loud buzzing comes from further ahead and up ahead. Looking up they see a group of six huge flies hurtling down towards them in hungry anticipation, driven by the smell of orcish blood and the sweet scent from the honey-blood that sprayed over the brothers as they fought them.

Ull yells back. Good idea. Does anyone speak fly?



Are we in melee range this round, or would we have time for a slingshot? ie, how far away are they?

Ull realizes that he doesnt have time to sling a bullet before getting zapped. So, he holds tight to his trusty short sword and prepares for battle. This time, however, his preperations call for him to duck somewaht behind his brothers, hoping the flies move toward them first.

Ull has by far the fewest hit points. He will fight, but would prefer not to be front and center on this one.

Seeing how fast the flies are moving, Theket says, "I think flies eats us before Trootz eats them if we run."

Theket readies his shield and magic scimitar, and waits for a fly to be in range to slash.

ooc: I can't access the die roller for some reason, please roll for me.

Lipput sees the flies winging their way towards him and his brothers and just shakes his head while raising his shield and sword. "What next?"; he asks no one in particular and will take a swing with his sword if any of the flies attempts to make a meal of him or his brothers....


Attack Roll: 1d20+2 (STR 17 & Longsword +1): [1d20+2] = 1+2 = 3

OOC: Oh man....I probably just tripped and fell right into a fly's mouth....damn die roller!

On sight of the flies Pol suddenly looks as if he is about to soil himself."Uhhh... get em, fellas! I got yer backs!" he he cries and quickly casts Sanctuary on himself. "I'll give you some juice if you look like you're about to up an die!"

Day 2, Turn 6 - The Grand Pipe/The Giant Flies


Darn it! Southeart has not posted in the forums (not just this game) since July 2nd. I am growing tired of having players bail and slow down the campaigns.


Round 1

Party Initiative: [1d6] = 6, Monster Initiative: [1d6] = 1

Segments: Party 1st, Pol 4th, Giant Flies 6th


And thus the flies fall buzzing upon the brothers...

Before they can do that, Pol fiddles with his unholy symbol and utters some words. The shadows around him seem to get slightly darker.

Ull, who had tried to position himself to put his beloved siblings between him and the oncoming insects, finds out such tactics are not much use when facing foes that can fly over obstacles; and suddenly sees himself confronting two of the things. He does manage to poke one on the side with his shortsword.

Theket is more efficient and scores a solid hit on the buzzing fiend assailing him, turning its bulbous, multifaceted-eyed head into a pulpy mass. The fly drops down and falls on the pipe's floor in painful misery as it perishes.

Perhaps to even things out, Lipput makes a ghastly display of weapon skill. So feeble are his attacks that he'd probably have fallen into the mouth of the fly attacking him...if flies had mouths and not acidic-laden proboscis.

Meanwhile, the fly that choose to attack Pol finds it simply cannot do it for some odd reason, and just hovers in front of him, buzzing much distraught. And Onn is also engaged with a fly of his own


Round 1 Ends

Situation: 5 flies left. Theket is the only one not engaged (and Pol's fly can't attack him). Ull is fighting with two of the things

Declare actions and make rolls for Round 2

Random Target Selection: [1d5] = 5
Theket to hit with scimitar (THACO 15): [1d20] = 16, Damage: [1d8+4] = 7+4 = 11
Saving Throw: [1d20] = 8

Ull quickly comes to the realization that even their enemies can tell he is the natural leader of the group... therefore, he must be better at something than his worthless brothers.

He delicately swings his trusty sword toward the fly he injured previously.,

Theket shouts, "Greedy Ull! No fair takin two at once!" and moves to chop the nearest fly engaged with Ull.

Theket's Scimitar, +1 (THAC0 16): to hit [1d20+1] = 17+1 = 18; damage [1d8+4] = 6+4 = 10

Pol, while having utmost confidence in the dark powers that protect him, still has trouble not wincing as the giant, disgusting creature hovers in front of his face. He doesn't want to look like a wuss to his brothers, though, and so tries to act casual.

"That's it, fellas. Try not to get stung. I don wanna have to waste any healin on your sorry arses."
