Very possible that or my post was a bit confusing. I'm finding too many are so used to how my 2e games work that this game messes them up a bit.

That's fine Chris enjoy I should post a battle update between today or 9/2. No rush trying to keep the game at a semi-slow pace for the moment.

No need to worry on that Dram 5e doesn't have a firing into melee "consequence" like old school does, at least not according to what Dave has told me when i or someone else had this same dilemma in one of his games.
Correct. There are optional rules that deal with this, but I haven't seen anyone use them.

I'm back. 2100 miles from Stl to Michigan around Lake Michigan then through the upper peninsula and back down on the Wisconsin side back to Stl. A little bit of rain and wind on both sides of the lake.

So re-read the hypnotic pattern spell and yeah i screwed up a bit the creatures are only hypnotised/charmed until they take damage...so i will make those 3 creatures attack in round 9 along. DM screw up no punishment for the players due to my mishap. :)

Agreed. Just pointing out how the PCs should be using magic to help party tactics when dealing with large number of bad guys for future battles.

Been busy here. I’ll try to post tomorrow or you can auto drex.
