Re: OOC Combat
Taking charge - Benson directs the order into pairs, with the fight up front to defend the skills behind... but still a decent rear guard.
Agrim, Gilnes
Branc Temugen, Fezuul Lokvin
Benson Greystarr, Phineous Cobbler

Re: OOC Combat
I was thinking this....and I will go with this , unless somebody objects before the poo hits the fan.
(front)
Benson-Phineous
Fezuul-Gilnes
Agrim-Branc
The four up front being the most familiar with Greyhawk, as we are not officially in any combat, but merely an alerted state.
I laughed.

How could Benson have been a Watch for years and NOT be very familiar with the city of Greyhawk? or was all he did was stand at a gate... in the roughest most dangerous part of town (south) known as Thieves' quarters or the slum quarter?

Re: OOC Combat
Yes, Benson is THE most familiar with the town. That is why he is up front.

Re: OOC Combat
Normally yes. This is not sleep or charm and he is not targeted individually, so elves still need to save. You can roll a magic resist d100 if you want. It may work, it may not, post it anyway. it cant hurt.

I agree, Agrim will take up the rear guard...
Re: OOC Combat
Gil targeting the roof-top mage with his short bow... sorry for the delay. :p

Re: OOC Combat
Yea, the Bewilder spell is essentially a way for the module to get the ambush party in their formation positions without having to deal with a surprise round.
It does have a secondary effect, which I am not using.
(Those who failed were supposed to be stupidified into doing nothing except following directions from their friends.)
This does not transfer to PbP with any fun at all.
So ignore any additional effects from Bewilder for now.

Why? His dex gives him a -1 bonus. Unless I'm missing something. (and i most likely will)NJWilliam wrote:Branc Temugen, wild mage

Re: OOC Combat
Still your call - but my understanding of the shields involvement in defending (and its being damaged) is when an attack is within the shields granted defense... in this case it is when the attack is within 2 of what would have been a hit. A d20 roll of 3 is no where near my AC of 1, and the shield would not be used in my defense.Stonjuz wrote: Segment 5: The speaker grabs one of the other fighters F3 and throws him at Benson who was preparing a shield bash. The damage done from the Shield of Greyhawk is negated as he uses it to block the incoming attack.
[1d100] = 2 [1d20] = 3 [1d10] = 5 [1d8] = 2 [1d6] = 2 [1d4] = 2
Maybe I'll shut up - I don't want to be a rule Nazi... cause I could go on and on.

The initiative penalty is part of his "scholar" package, looks like I wasn't offsetting it with his dex though.Stonjuz wrote:Why? His dex gives him a -1 bonus. Unless I'm missing something. (and i most likely will)NJWilliam wrote:Branc Temugen, wild mage

Re: OOC Combat
Yea, the attack was not a normal attack, and your shield bash is still to come in the round.
No te preocupes - dont worry.
If a person is thrown your way, you have no choice but to either block or dodge, either would interrupt the preparations for bash. but there is still 30 seconds or so, left in the round.

Thats what I meant when i said, (miss anything obvious?)wolfpack wrote:wait so phineious attack roll of 17 missed? And my AC is 2.
I completely missed Phineus 2nd spear.
I am going back and adding 9 damage to the eastern thief,
thnkx
Yes, The thief does hit ac 2 with a 14, also retro-added into the edited text flavor
This post would have been better suited here in OOCcombat, i think.
