Re: OOC talk
Plan works for me, let's head to the bar with the fights that the barkeep at the blackened dragon told about.
Sebastian, A Candle in the Darkness
Ulrich, Tales of The Troll Company
Alex Fiord, The Rescuers
Hakon Geirmundarson, Pawns of the North Wind
Jameson Rowan, Silverband
Disston Symonds, Sigma Chronos

Re: OOC talk
Ok I'm finally back. No more travel for a while so I'll be back to posting every day. Wow I have a lot to catch up on.
Re: OOC talk
Mouse knows of a fence in the south ward who may have some info. He works out of the back of a tavern on Broken tooth alley. What do you guys think? Should we pay him a visit before heading to the bar with the fights?
Re: OOC talk
Sounds good to me.

Hey Shonuff,
What are the effects of the myconid syrup and aboleth slime in second edition?
I could only find reference to nameless toxins in the PHB/DMG.
If no one minds and there are extra unclaimed vials Mouse would like them. He's got the skills to slip them into food or drink and half dozen darts that need coating.

Re: OOC talk
Myconid syrup
Stun Poison
Sticky blueish-green syrup type liquid.
stays on blade or item for three attempts unless diluted into liquid
must be added to bloodstream
upon ingestion/wound:
victim rolls save vs. poison or be stunned d4 rounds
(multiple doses stack)
Vicitm becomes dizzy and vertigo, cannot stand without aid.
must focus to keep eyes and senses from going crazy.
Made from a mythical creature that lives deep in the Deepdark made of walking sentient mushrooom people called Myconids.
Aboleth slime
Paralytic Poison
Blackish brown oil-like liquid
Stays on blade or item for one attempt. diluting does not break down slime
Must touch porous skin or hide
Upon touch/bloodstream:
victim rolls save vs. Paralysis at a -4
fail: vicitim's muscles seize and falls in catatonic , but awake and alert state.
can hear, feel, and blink, but nothing more. Lasts 2d4 rounds
Success Victim looses use of one limb (random d4) 1-2 arm, 3-4 leg for d4 rounds
Multiple doses do NOT stack, but each successful dose lowers
defensive save roll by -1
Made from a deep sea creature who has near genius intelligence, and covers victim in
this slime which is more potent, and can control victim's mind. Aboleth is a deadly creature.

Pondbottom?
At least it isnt the pondscum that floats on top.
Now if it was pondbottomfeeder, well.......

Re: OOC talk
Hey, I'm back from vacation. I thought I might post while I was on vacation, but two kids in diapers have more stamina that I expected.
Plus, for some reason, I'm not getting any emails notifying me of new posts to these forums.
Anyway, posting today.

Re: OOC talk
THIS POST IF JUST GENERAL PHILOSOPHIC COMMENTARY SO IF THAT BORES YOU, YOU DON'T NEED TO READ IT. IT DOESNT PERTAIN TO GAMEPLAY AT ALL
I realized the DM created the pawnbroker character name for the humorous aspect of it (overall for humor though it still maintains appeal as a personal surmane through syllabic harmony).
I also realized that at some microscopic level I was actually making fun of somebody else's name that may exist (...if you've read C.W. Leadbeater and give it any creedence, which I do to a degree, then u might feel that a Thought Form is the beginning of an individual).
-------------------------Moving on------------------>
If I was to be realistic about my understanding of life it would tell me that making fun of somebody's name isnt necessarily the fault of the person who committed the act : their circumstances, their level of emotional comprehension, their level of personal character evolution , all those things definied them in that moment..and yet those things dont create an excuse for bad decisions and therefore....
My very personal apologetic resolution is:
"Sorry Pondbottom Family Name: You are alright!..and CRAPPY NAMES HAPPEN!...but that doesnt mean you are are a crappy clan!"
(Bad Karma I've got your number! Eat me!)
Okay, Yes, I did make a joke out of the entertaining NPC name, but two days later, after hindsight had enough time to set in, I was able to put things into personal perspective.Shonuff wrote:lol you guys making fun of my NPC names?

Re: OOC talk
I must admit, my first thought was of an actual pond bottom, with big catfish slurping up the trash on the bed. Then I thought of some bad reputations of the pawn industry, hence the pondscum reference. Then I realized it probably had been more like the SoggyBottom Boys, or Binwin BronzeBottom. Now I like this npc even more.
The pond, it's deep, brother.

Re: OOC talk
Everything alright Shonuff? Tell me you aren't THAT upset about the Pondbottom posts.
Re: OOC talk
Last word I got from him was that he was on a deadline. So I expect there might be some delays.
Re: OOC talk
DEAD HALT more like; DELAY is the diplomatic [1d20] = 15 way of putting it
