Epichicken has decided to abandon his studies to come back and game with us.

Just kidding, but he is coming back with his dwarven fighter.

thats 2 fighters and 2 rogues (thief and bard)
can we get 2 casters?
divine (cleric, druid, ranger, paladin, or even a mage who can cast priestly spells)
and arcane (mage, specialist mage, another bard perhaps, or a cleric who can cast wizard spells)

Thats it? Go for the extra credit...ie ...xp. How about a lyric?
If its an instrumental, try words like arpeggio, stanza,cresendo, etc....Bards doing bard stuff = XP.
Of course you arent required to do such, but like i said, bards are my personal favorites and a good description of Bard stuff can get you leveled in no time.
Same goes for the other classes. Just remember....
Which player gets more roleplay xp?

or one who says "Zazig tries not to stumble, or at least let anyone see him sway, in route to get his next intoxicant. "
another example...
"Zazig sharpens his blade" or "With the most purposeful of motions, Zazig takes his weapon to knee and begins bringing the edge back to perfection.

Either posts are perfectly acceptable,and please dont think that I am making you change anything but I do, and will, give xp upon descriptive roleplay.
Agreed, this is my first dm seat on pbp and I am not expecting a novel entry every post. But try not to skip over the potential flair of storytelling. Remember, we all are modernday equivalents to folk storytellers.

Since we may be trying to take captives alive, what rules for knockouts are in?

1. Sapping per complete fighter (if so, do we need a specific weapon for it)?
2. KO percentages for punching and wrestling even if the hit didn't reduce hp to zero?
3. Called shots per complete fighter?
4. nonlethal poisons, and if so, who can use them?
5. if nonlethal poisons, are there blowguns or such available?
6. mugging per complete thief?
7. what weapons cannot be used for nonlethal attacks?

Thanks. Just want to be on the same page with what methods we have available.
I know some of the above may be more complicated than wanted.

There is no address on the canvas. The auction appears to be scheduled right here.
Really wasnt wanting anyone to leave , at least until the entire group is in the room. The other two players may come in as part of the auction crowd, maybe.
Still waiting on backgrounds from them. In fact we have not officially began. Im just posting stuff here and there if by chance the players are getting bored.
Of course the players are not required to attend the sale. Surely Skuzz would be interested in at least looking at the weapons available yes?

i have at least 3 encounters prepared for the tavern, before i throw poop at the fan.
After that, the players can request Gryehawk adventures, preferably ones that no one has played or read.
Vargr has mentioned UK 1-4 series, and I do have some of those that can be ran.

WTF? Why can no other DM have just...spirits?!?!?! I just want to find a haunted inn, not age 50 years! Is that so wrong? lol

i have no idea what you mean.
you want the inn to be haunted? maybe it is, maybe it isn't.
unfortunately, there is no one to ask..., yet.
has anyone tried...detect undead yet?, nope.
detect magic ?, nope.
detect evil/good? nope.
etc, etc...

with no npc around to point, yet, i know its going slow,
i was just trying to get the party to gel into a unit
any suggestions on some obvious things that should be addressed before we get to the first real encounter?

it will all hit the fan soon enough.

"Beer, dark. Meat rare. Vegetables. Bread. Gravy" and "An ale and whatever you've got to eat."
Eventually Darius is given the goat gravy only. The bread and water have already been laid out.
It dons upon the group that "meat, rare" and "vegetables" and "whatever you got", are too generic and vague for the 'servant' to fathom. Typing out the menu doesnt seem like the kind of thing i need to do. You want something? you have to be more specific. Today's special of goat gravy was intended for the players to get food quickly without having to wait for the individual meals to be prepared.
Jacob has already tried to order "my salted herring", unfortunately, it isnt on the menu and the servants have not opened his crate. now if he had said "salted sea bass", well......
"An ale" registers with the servant, but it has been prior programmed and....The section behind the bar that holds the booze is closed, at least for now, and the beer orders never come.

hope that clears up a little, or at least, doesnt confuse further.

Any other roleplaying before I bump the timeline a bit?
