Carlos grabs Emily and goes over the ship to preflight it, looking for any more GP trickery. Half an hour before scheduled liftoff, he catches up to Zaki for a kiss, then grabs his chair on the bridge to start setting up the jump calculations and outbound path.

Carlos and Emily run into Pedro and Sigrun doing the same thing.

Zaki [is in the crew lounge eating lunch with John Lee, Chandra and Sigrun?] from the smell they are eating fish paste sandwiches.

Once on the bridge, Carlos makes his calculations, inputs the outbound path to Connie and sits back as Pedro gets permission to lift. The lift and turn onto the outbound path goes smoothly, 108 minutes to jump.

As time for lift approaches Sigrun wanders into the crew lounge where she runs into a few of the crew. Chandra and John Lee are grabbing a bite to eat.

"Hey, good looking!" says John Lee between bits of his sandwich, "I made extra fish paste for sandwiches. The bowl is in the fridge."

Sigrun nods amiably at Chandra and gives John Lee a slow smile "Heill to you too, Mr. Petamore".

She fetches bread and the fish paste and sits down to eat. She eyes John Lee "If I'd known you were so useful in the galley I might let you out of the bedroom more often" she grins "just a little bit".

Pedro also keeps an eagle eye on the loading and joins Sigrun on the security walk through.

At launch time he settles in on the bridge and has everyone sound off on their readiness. ONce the board is full green he calls Traffic control "Control this is the Connie Lee ready for takeoff. Are we cleared to lift?" Presuming the answer is in the affirmative he locks in the course, brings her up to take off and heads for orbit; keeping a particular eye on the newly replaced grav modules. "How you feeling Connie? Everything good" he asks the ship...

Given the "GO!" Pedro nods to Carlos and says, "Here we go!"

Connie Malone lifts smoothly and steadily accelerates until the ship is in orbit. Using Carlos' calculations the ship turns and accelerates out toward the jump location he has picked. It will be an hour and 18 minutes before the ship is in position to enter jump space.

"Yes, Captain Pedro. All systems feel perfect to me.", is the cheerful reply from the ship, "The new grav modules are running so much more smoothly than the old ones were."

Carlos relays the forward view back to the biofreight lounge monitor, then keys the intercom. "Good afternoon. This is the XO. Thank you again for flying Connie Malone. We have left atmosphere and should be reaching the jump point in one hour, 10 minutes. The ship is tracking perfectly, ground control has promised us clear skies in the outbound flight corridor. We have routed the view repeater to feed the passenger lounge monitor for those who care to watch our outbound path. Again, thank you."
