(011) Jenghe [1810 Spinward Marches]

During the week in jump you have brought up the Library data on Jenghe.

With a C class Starport you don't expect a lot of infrastructure and the TL is only 9, so there this isn't a high tech world. There is a Scout Base here for your former Scouts to interact with and a local noble, but most of the influence and power is going to be found in the hands of the Ling Standard Products manager.

Although, there is a Governor on Jenghe appointed by the Regina Government she has little actual power. Jenghe is a world almost completely controlled by LSP. The majority of its approximately 3 million residents are Ling employees and operate under Ling rules 24 hours a day. A minority of residents are listed as "independent contractors" and "private citizens." There have been reports of "conflicts" between the LSP authorities and these non-LSP residents over the past few years.

Jenghe was once a thriving world (B starport, B TL), but about 80 years ago one of its small moons crashed into the surface. This disaster happened much too fast to prevent or to mitigate most of the damage it did when it crashed down. About 90% of the population was killed and very little infrastructure remained afterwards.

LSP won the "rebuilding" contract and has done, by almost all accounts, a very good job. It has an very strong...even an iron...grip on Jenghe now, though.

When Connie Malone emerges from jump it is immediately bathed in the bright red light of the local M0V star. Jenghe Main is the innermost planet in this system and Connie Malone is a four hour cruise from her.

Sensors pick up three ships: 1 orbiting Jenghe Main, 1 outgoing from the main world that will pass a couple of million kilometers from your inbound course, and 1 heading outbound toward one of the asteroid belts further out in the system.

Your radio crackles to life. It is Jenghe Traffic Control calling.

"Inbound ship, please, turn on your transponder and identify yourself."says a male voice over the radio.

That should give you time to land and get battened down, but not much time for anything else before Tigo 4 hits the island."

"Oh, and I was asked to ask. Do you have Ling Standard Products personnel disembarking here?" the Traffic Controller asks, "If you do could you have them contact LSP on channel 019."

Checking the ship's Passenger Manifest, Bobby Rangle is scheduled to disembark as well as all 9 of your low berth passengers.

It takes about 20 minutes to bring each of the low passengers around and that isn't usually done until the ship is on the ground. As low berthers are the last of the passenger to leave the ship the Medic can be "decanting" the LB'ers for a few hours after the ship lands and sending them out as they recover. Although, Zaki is the only trained crew member, Sigrun and/or others can assist letting Zaki concentrate on any recoveries that don't go completely according to the book. With one assistant, Zaki should be able to bring all 9 of your low passengers around in about 90 minutes...give or take.

"I think many men would be intimidated by you. John Lee proves that you are attractive by some men's standards. I think we are both fortunate in that two extraordinary men have chosen us."
