As for what I'm looking for: I'm mostly up for whatever, but I'm personally not a fan of flirting or romance subplots that involve PCs. It's just weird, knowing that you're pretending to flirt with other players or the DM. So I avoid it.
Also, I'd rather avoid intra-party conflict. PvP (whether actual fights or just lots of arguing) isn't as much fun for me as PCs vs. the world.
Equipment: No armor, helmet or shield.
Manacles, Lantern, Fishing Rod, Bottle.
You also begin with 2 days of rations, and a weapon of your choice (I need to add information about weapons to the rules thread).
Is the real rule book different from the sample on DriveThruRPG? The sample says a roll of 7 is gambeson armor (and also has some different traits for the results I rolled).

Like others, I'm up for a smattering of most things in the campaign. A mix of drama and humour/lightness is always good. From your list of elements, Combat, Exploration of forgotten spaces, and Daring escapes leap out as things I'd particularly like to see. I'm also quite partial to a modicum of Social interaction/Interactions with NPCs, that is people to give a damn about (whether they be characters from the PCs' backstories or not), as I tend to prefer to play characters that are broadly heroic, though that doesn't necessarily imply competence
Okay, we've got quorum on characters, so we can get started! I'll post the first adventuring thread, today.
I'm glad to see we're all of a mind in terms of what we aren't interested in. PVP doesn't seem like fun at all, and role-play flirtation... well, have you seen that episode of The IT Crowd?
Operation Unfathomable, the adventure we'll be running, is goofy in a very old-school D&D way. The sort of thing where androids can rub elbows with balrogs and tharks. Does a city of necromancers make sense? No. Is it cool to have somewhere in the world? Yes. So, this won't be a deadly serious campaign. Just deadly.
A common point to address in PbP campaigns is the expected posting rate. Whatever the stated expectation is, my experience is that posting rates tend to settle out like this:
1st week: several times a day
Weeks 2-3ish: everyday
The next couple months: every 2-3 days
Around months 8-12: once a week
Sometime between a year or two: dribbles off to nothing
So, in the face of this, I say we shoot at this being a game with an end-point. You have a big mission ahead of you, but if we apply the pepper, I think we can get it done in a year. After that, we can see if we want to keep it up. But I think having a planned end point will help maintain pace.
Another point: an interesting feature of Knave is that any roll can be player-facing or referee-facing. That is to say, If you want to hit a monster on the head with your club, we can resolve it in either of two ways:
1. You roll 1d20 + STR Bonus and try to exceed the monster's Armor Defense;
or 2. I roll 1d20 + Armor Bonus and try to exceed your Strength Defense.
An elegant piece of mechanical symmetry, what?
The gist being, if you'd like all the rolls to be in your hands, they can be. Or, if you'd rather I do all the rolling, that works, too. In the middle position, you roll your rolls, but if you are out of town, or unavailable to the game, I can pick up the baton, as it were. But I'll want your permission to do so.
Alright, strap on your roller skates! We're ready to go!

Hmm so I'm a living contradiction Speech: Blunt? so I cut to the chase and don't tip toe around I am right to the point correct?
Also are we posting Characters in the roller sheets or as the current two are posted?

Nate, in Knave you don't add CON to your hit points, but to your healing rate. So, your HP will start at 3.
Also, that's a nice G-doc character sheet you've got there!
Got it, starting HP adjusted to 3.
I copied the character sheet from the character generator in the Knave G+ and just took out all the randomization functions.
As for rolls, I don't mind at all if you handle them if that'll help keep things moving. I don't mind doing them myself either of course. Whatever you think will allow things to go smoother.
