Character Creation and House Rules
Re: Character Creation and House Rules
Here's my HP roll:
Hit points, one level at a time [1d8] = 7 [1d8] = 5 [1d8] = 8 [1d8] = 4
Very nice I think.
For full disclosure, I rolled this at first: Hit points [4d8] = 22. Unfortunately this doesn't show the individual dice, hence I couldn't see if there were any 1-s So I did a do-over, hope that's OK.

Re: Character Creation and House Rules
That is fine, nice roll. I will make a topic for posting character sheets.

Re: Character Creation and House Rules
guessing i am the same HP/HD roll as alver.
HD/HP [1d8] = 5 [1d8] = 2 [1d8] = 6 [1d8] = 1
HD/HP Re-roll for 1's [1d8] = 8
HD/HP [1d8] = 5 [1d8] = 2 [1d8] = 6 [1d8] = 1
HD/HP Re-roll for 1's [1d8] = 8

Re: Character Creation and House Rules
How do we convert GP prices to SP? 1:1, 1:10, something else?Rex wrote: Using Silver Standard, just convert costs from GP to SP. For Armor and Weapons cost see below.
For the time being, I have the Prentice book, which has a short equipment listing in GP only.
Re: Character Creation and House Rules
Should have been clearer. 1gp = 1sp on your price list. Just post what you want to buy not on the list and I will figure a price out.
Re: Character Creation and House Rules
Thanks!
Starting silver [3d6x10] = 7x10 = 70
For now, the only additional item I'd like to buy is a ball of string (not rope), let's say 100 ft. The rest is on the char sheet.

Stats [3d6] = 13 [3d6] = 6 [3d6] = 11 [3d6] = 13 [3d6] = 9 [3d6] = 10
Hmm...have 13 points left over I think my final scores will be
18 15 15 10 9 8
Not sure what class I'll be just yet but I'm leaning toward cleric

Re: Character Creation and House Rules
A cleric would be good for sure. Scores look good.
Re: Character Creation and House Rules
Not sure if you have the rules so if you go with a cleric level 4 gets 2 first level and 1 second level spell slots. An 18 Wis would add another 1st level or an 18 Chr adds a mystic familiar type. A 15 Aura adds a spell you can use 1/day (could be a magic-user spell).
Re: Character Creation and House Rules
Cool, will we be using just the ability score bonuses that you posted or will we be also using the bonuses in the book as well?
For example will my 15 Charaisma get me a non mystical follower as well as be used for deciding how many followers I can attract?

Re: Character Creation and House Rules
For Chr it is both. Others are from my house rules. My attempt at making all the stats valuable.
Re: Character Creation and House Rules
Here is your starting equipment LtTibbles,
2 sets of clothing (1 traveling & 1 priest set), mail armor, shield, knife, Lance or spear, 2 weapons of your choice, backpack, 2 belt pouches, tinder box & water/wine skin. you have a riding horse (not the best quality, but gets the job done) and basic tack. Do you have a preference on a magic item? Feel free to downgrade any items if you are thinking slightly different (can exchange mail for leather etc.).
Also need to figure if you want an exceptional war horse or a mountain lion.

Re: Character Creation and House Rules
I was thinking about taking a +1 weapon and the mountain lion, do Larani clerics have any weapon restrictions?
Re: Character Creation and House Rules
No weapon restrictions. They are considered knights, even if low born. Most common weapons are lance, spear, sword, mace and shield. Missile weapons are mainly used for hunting by knights if at all.
You can have a +1 weapon of your choice, 4 potions of Cure Light Wounds (your manufacture) and 4 vials of Holy Water (your manufacture). 2 additional potions of your choice and either your shield or mail can be +1.
Mountain Lion (Cat, Great, Large)
HD 2D8, HP 16, AC 6, Move 50, Alignment LG, Attacks 1 bite & 2 claw, Damage 1D6 each, smarter than a normal cat
Keep in mind you can cast both control animals and speak with animals (both 2nd level).
If you want to make more potions or holy water I will assume you had time you just need the money (remember that GP = SP), rules below. You can pool cash with other players.

Re: Character Creation and House Rules
You don't have to pay for Humfrey's holy symbol. I should have included that in his equipment.
Re: Character Creation and House Rules
Oh ok I'll be sure to change that, so I decided on a +1 Sword, +1 Mail, and a potion of Giants Strength and Heroism if that is ok. Besides that I think Humfrey is about done. I included the mountain lion's stats on my notes, the house rules mentioned that Wisdom gave extra languages how many does an 18 get me and does will I need to use my bonus languages for reading and writing scripts?
Re: Character Creation and House Rules
18 Wis gives you plus 8. Yes you need to use the slots for scripts and languages.
You start with Harnic and Laranian Clerics get Emela (language) and Khruni (Script) free.
I recommend Lakise (script), Jarinese and Ivinian (languages)
You can keep open slots if you want.

Re: Character Creation and House Rules
Stat rolls to start with:
[3d6] = 7 [3d6] = 13 [3d6] = 10
[3d6] = 15 [3d6] = 3 [3d6] = 13
Hmm.. That's 14 below the 75. Now to configure this.....
[3d6] = 7 [3d6] = 13 [3d6] = 10
[3d6] = 15 [3d6] = 3 [3d6] = 13
