OCC @GM: Does Dieter know how long he can hold the doors?

Re: Chapter 28 - Down down
He knows that Hold Portal is temporary and that Arcane Lock, which he doesn't have, is permanent.

I meant, how long does the staff generated telekinesis last?

Dieter - Mage
Dieter will stop the telekinesis and cast hold portal on the doors, when possible. One way or another we should put some space between us and this place before sundown...

Ulster disagrees. "Our job is to make sure this place is no longer a problem. If we did, it's safe to stay here. If we didn't, we should stay here and finish the job."

Grimes - Fighter
Grimes listens intently to the conversation and says "If nothing is coming outta them doors, then I'd say we did what we came here to do, eh? Besides, those flamin' guys will hopefully be melted and unable to toss critters out the door. And that big guy they tossed will raise hell inside there for sure, so I'd say that's probably mission accomplished." He stares at the doors and says "Hey, Deets? Do you have a spell that could seal them doors, or something really hot that could melt em' closed? No open doors, no critters."
Grimes taps Wave on the ground, at the same time glancing about to see if your escorts (the troops that accompanied us here) are nearby or approaching.

Nothing permanent Grimes. I thought the plan was to exit and Ulster would turn the ground to mud and sink the place. Is that not possible, Ulster?
For some of us, the priority is not this place but the parts recovered from it. We need to return them to an entity that we owe a life debt to. Maybe the same entity could give us some pointers on how to get home.

"It is not," answers Ulster. "Every druid in the order together couldn't lower this thing more than a few feet at most."
"Please humor me long enough to see whether my fiery friends have done the job. If not, I still have a few ways to clear out that hold. With your help, we should be able to end the threat forever."

Castinus - human thief
Castinus curses in agitation at Ulster's insistence on remaining behind to see this through. We need to go, now! the thief insists. Whatever nightmares you've seen within that fortress there, something far worse is coming for me and Grimes.
All that said, Castinus still waits to see what happens.

Grimes - Fighter
Grimes nods and says "Yeah, Casty isn't kidding. Bad stuff. I'm okay with checking on how the burning guys did, but after that, we probably need to be movin' along."
Grimes will continue to look for our escort party to see if they are still nearby and waiting for us.

Agreed, I would agree that destroying the... the... whatever it is, a ship I guess, would be prudent I don't think we have the capacity to inflict that much damage.
Getting some distance between us and the ship, before they get the door open, would be a good idea.

The doors seem to hold even as Dieter tests the release of his telekinesis. You don’t know how long they will stay closed, but they are closed for now.

OCC: From the post that detailed the finding of the "ship": "The men-at-arms have been detailed to guard the supplies and mounts of the camp while you go onward immediately. They will await your return for four full days before returning to their keep."
Are they still about?

Let's get a move on, it appears we have a lengthy hike ahead of us.

Re: Chapter 28 - Down down
Ulster sighs and thinks for a moment. A long moment. He realizes that he won't be able to keep everyone else here waiting much longer. He could stay here himself and catch up with them later—but he also realizes that he doesn't need to.
He wanders over toward the trees in search of a bird. When he finds one, he twitters back and forth with the bird briefly until it flies away.
"We can go," he says. "I sent word to have some of my druids come watch the door. I think they can handle any clean-up, or send me a message if I am needed."
Grayarea: I assumed some actions in the interest of moving things along. Please let me know if I need to deduct spells and such.
Also, Ulster would ask his druids to send him word telling him if the threat has been neutralized.
