2014
The latest chapter of recent GB history, unfortunately, begins on a sad note with the death of Egon Spangler on February 24, 2014, due to Complications of autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis. R.I.P Harold Ramis He was a key innovator of not just the original equipment used by the originals Ghostbusters of Firehouse 0, but continued to innovate, research, and publish his findings during his continued pursuit of Supernatural Studies. His wife of 15 years, Janine Melnitz, part of the original staff and an accomplished Ghostbuster in the 1990's and early 2000's, retired altogether and became a lobbyist in Washington D.C. where she was able to successfully push for fair insurance coverage for Ghostbusters and their families throughout the nation. She has since retired again but sometimes still visits Firehouse 0 as well as the franchises around the world in support of their efforts to continue her husband's legacy.

2016
Ghostbusters University (GBU) was founded by Ray Stanz and Kylie Giffon, and sponsored by the Winston Zedmore Foundation, to answer the growing necessity to train more recruits in supernatural sciences and safety. As franchises opened internationally, the demand for on the job study and training was more than the teams at Firehouse 0 to handle, and with pushing from Janine and the personal funding of Winston, they were able to break ground on the first and only University completely and lawfully authorized to teach Ghostbusting and the Paranormal. Students get the best training in physical fitness, Paranormal and Supernatural studies, Spangler Physics, and the latest Equipment for the job.
Anyone wishing to become a fully certified Ghostbuster must make the cut and be accepted into the University in New York, just a few blocks from Firehouse 0, itself.

2017
Ghostbusting has become a presigious and profotable career. Most major cities in the United States has a Firehouse, sometimes more than one in especially active areas. (GBH's 0-4 are located in New York throughout the various Borrows.) Though dangerous, many children grow up wanting to be a member of the team, and in general they are very popular in general with the general population.
The franchise has gone international, with Firehouses scattered throughout the world, crossing boundries both physical and exostencial. World governments have recognized the growing nessecity of the Ghostbusters and have come together in agreement to allow Certified Ghostbusters to have the same kind of International Passport rights as Political figures such as the President of the United States and the English Monarchy.

The latest Firehouse 316 is founded in Fort Smith, Arkansas, USA due to demand from the city after an increase in supernatural activity.
