Re: Gunfight at the Railroad Corral
As he sees the Russell round the corner, Mose brings his carbine to bear. His palms are sweaty from fear and he pulls his trigger without knowing what he is doing.
Carbine [1d100] = 67, [1d100] = 84, [1d100] = 64
Carbine [1d100] = 66, [1d100] = 83, [1d100] = 63
Carbine [1d100] = 57, [1d100] = 74, [1d100] = 54
I don't think that's worth much of nothing...

Re: Gunfight at the Railroad Corral
Suddenly the corrals come ablaze with gunfire. Within a blink of an eye the Russell faction is nearly wiped out, only Frank Russell is left standing and ready to fight in the center of the corral as his brother Clay, after firing off two blasts from his scattergun with no effect, throws the street sweeper down and flees. The remainder of the Russells are dead or so badly shot to pieces they are unable to move. Skins remains in the front door of Babe's covering the lost fight, but Bob sporting two new holes in his stomach leaves his window and flees out the back door of Babe's. Of the Kane faction two of the brothers are down Hez with both legs shot out from under him and steady Malachi with a hole in his head.
The back lot went better for the Russells. Jeff Russell got the first round off at Mose who was jumping behind the wall of the blacksmiths. Not sure if the blow was a killing one Jeff cautiously slides up to check on his success.

OOC - Okay Bob will get away as he has only to move out of the window and head out the back door of Babes. Clay is running away - he can be shot. Your side has warrants for his arrest. Skins and Frank are still fighting determined to win or die. Jeff is clueless to how bad things are. I need a luck save for Mose to determine if he got behind the wall of the blacksmith's before he took the fatal wound to the abdomen. Looks like 2 rounds this time! I will guarantee there area some mistakes here but we don't go back after my post. If you find anything let me know so I can fix it next time. Remember if you are shooting at the same target this round you do get a bonus for that. Also please include your modified speed in your posts to the best of your ability to calculate it. And specifically name the weapon you are using. It might be a good idea from now on to include a luck check just encase you need it.
Re: Gunfight at the Railroad Corral
The Wichita Kid draws his other revolver with his free hand and shoots Clay in the back. Or tries to, anyway. If he gets Clay, Ted fires at Frank.

Re: Gunfight at the Railroad Corral
Seeing his target disappear in the window Stumpy wonders if he got a solid hit, it sure felt good when he squeezed the trigger. Realizing this is not the time for reflection Stumpy switches targets and aims at the figure at the front door of Babe's and lets off three rapid shots.

Surprised at his groups sudden success, and glad to have no new holes in him, Sawbones looks around feverishly, making sure he isn't about to be snuck-up on from the backside of the building. He fires three more shots off at anything that looks like it still needs shootin. He moves out from behind his cover if necessary to get himself in a better position.

Samuel "Shootout" Stokes
With the yellow-bellied Clay Russell running away, the only immediate threat remaining is Frank. Samuel moves the sights slightly to the left and empties the chambers of his fast draw revolver.

Re: Gunfight at the Railroad Corral
Sam fires first hitting Frank twice in the right shoulder. Jubal pops Frank twice killing him. The last Kane standing instantly switches targets and puts a bullet through the fleeing Clay's head. Skins fires from Babe's door and puts two bullets into Jubal. Sawbones hears Jeff running around the corner and turns to face the last Russell. He blasts off three rounds hitting Jeff with two of them before Jeff is able to return fire. Stumpy finishes Jeff with a shot to the chest. As brave as Skins is he knows the fight is lost and there is no one left to reward his loyalty. He turns tail to run only to find a smiling Babe standing in front of him with a leveled scattergun. Skins suddenly wishes he had listened to Frank Russell when he had warned him that Babe had an eye for Salina and it was best not to cross the giant bartender. The blast of both barrels of the bartender's scattergun ends the fight.
Townspeople rush in carrying off the wounded to the doctor's office. Hez, Jubal and Nahum all recover given a bit of time. The county pays all the doctor bills. Jeff Russell and Bob Howard, who was so badly wounded he couldn't get out of town and was arrested by one of the Marshall's deputies, both are found guilty of a long list of crimes. Russell is sentenced to hang and Howard gets 15 years in the territorial prison. The warrants served the court awards your each with two shiny double eagle gold coins, to pay your expenses. Malachi and Mose are buried with high honors at the Mad Mesa cemetery.

Sawbones does what he can to lend a hand with the wounded, helping out the real doctor if he is allowed, hoping to pick up a few pointers along the way.

Re: Gunfight at the Railroad Corral
The Wichita Kid holsters his guns with two still-shaky hands. He made it out of a gunfight alive! So that's something. But he didn't shoot anyone, neither. That last part's not optimal performance in a gunfighter.
He thinks about maybe getting one of those scatter guns. They seem a mite more forgiving of iffy aim.

Sam claps the Wichita Kid on the shoulder. Congratulations! You did good, kid. Any gunfight you don't get shot is a good one. Learn from this and get better for next time.
