House Rules: & Overriding Rules

#1 Post by GreyWolfVT »

Hit Points:

Max your HP for 1st level after that you can add the defined HP as listed for this type of game, as you level up.

Stat Rolls:

Re-roll if you get a result of 1. Even if you are monsters. ;)

Mage Class Spells:

I normally say take half the max spells per level based on your INT score modifiers. However since this is reverse world and you only rolled stats with 2d6 I am willing to say take 6 mage class spells per level for your spell book. At least for the Goblin portions of this game.

Cleric Class Spells:

Entirely optional ruling but rather than forcing a clerical class spell to be prayed for the day before and being stuck with it I am happy to add an optional rule where you can pray to your deity any time of day asking for a different spell. I then can roll a deity's favor roll to determine if your deity favors you with the new spell or not.

Additional Weapons Allowed: For Goblins

Stone Dagger: Wt. 1, Size: Small, Type: Piercing, Speed: 2, Dmg: 1d3/1d2
Bone Dagger: Wt. 1, Size: Small, Type: Piercing, Speed: 2, Dmg: 1d2/1d2
Stone Arrow, Flight: Wt. 1/10, Size: Medium, Type: Piercing, Speed: -, Dmg: 1d4/1d4
Bone Knife: Wt. 1/2, Size: Small, Type: Piercing/Slashing, Speed: 2, Dmg: 1d2/1d2
Stone Knife: Wt. 1/2, Size: Small, Type: Piercing/Slashing, Speed: 2, Dmg: 1d2/1d2
Stone Spear: 1-Handed Wt. 5, Size: Medium, Type: Piercing, Speed: 6, Dmg: 1d4/1d6
Stone Spear: 2-Handed Wt. 5, Size: Medium, Type: Piercing, Speed: 6, Dmg: 1d6/2d4

Combat: in the events of combat players roll their own attack to hit and damage rolls. Initiative will be rolled by the DM, group initiative is what is being used with some factors from spell casting time & weapon speed to have certain actions take place in a certain order. New initiative will be rolled for each round again by the DM.

Critical Hits & Fumbles: any natural roll of 20 is a critical hit, a critical hits and fumbles chart is used by the DM. A fumble or "critical miss" is a natural roll of 1. Again a chart is being used for the results of this. Any player that rolls a critical hit or fumble can then include a 1d100 roll this roll result will be used by the DM to reveal the result of the critical hit or fumble. If the player wishes to they can elect to have the critical hit or fumble rolled by the DM.

Climbing: BTB as stated the tables below are from the PHB. However some specialty items such as climbing daggers state they add a specific amount to climbing rolls.

Base Climb Rates:

Climbing Modifiers:

Special Climbing Tools:
Clawed Gloves and Shoes/Boots: For smooth/cracked surfaces, clawed gloves add +5 to the climb walls chance, boots add +5 also, the two together add + 10%. For any other type of surface, clawed gloves add +10, clawed boots add +10, and the combination adds +20% to the climb walls roll.

Climbing Daggers: Climbing daggers may add +10 to all climbing chances at the DMs option, although their main use is with a housebreaker‘s harness.

Grappling Hooks: Climbing a wall using a grappling hook and rope adds +40 to all normal climbing chances.

Special Function Arrows:
Wood Biter +15 for Tree Branches and Wooden Walls
Stone Biter +10 for Stone Parapet and Stone Wall Top, +5 to Wooden Wall
Stone Biter +20 for Stone Parapet (Adamantite) and Stone Wall Top, + 5 to Wooden Wall
Minor Grapple + 10 to Stone Parapet, Grapple Tree Branches; +5 to all others
Major Grapple +15 to Stone Parapet, Grapple Tree Branches; + 10 to Rocky Ledge, Wooden Wall; +5 to Stone Wall Top

One-rope method: halve all bow ranges, -5 to all modifiers above save for major grapple. This method involves tying a rope to the arrows. This is used with the minor and major grapple specialty arrows.
