Combat round 3

Roikos' hold person spell immobilizes the out-of-control caravan guard. His comrades start slapping him around, cursing at him. It doesn't look as if they're going to kill them, though.

Taranna fires off a sleep spell. The creature rears its head for a moment, but then shakes off the enchantment. From your campsite, you hear the jangling of armor, followed by the sound of a blade swinging through the night air, but missing its mark. Silence, and then a roar of pain.

Charging through the darkness, straight at Diego is the formerly sleeping, largely forgotten and now completely deranged Sir Joffrey! He bears the same desperate face as the wayward caravan guard.

Actions? Don't forget to deduct any spells used.

Zelaz cries, not Joff. He casts sleep on his companion.

What is this menace that drives our comrades to insanity?

Zelaz knows enough about magic to realize that sleep spells don't work on high-level characters, or creatures with more than 4 HD.

Aristide - Rogue Guy

Aristide winces at the sight of the creature, and he'll shout "HA!" as he tries to skewer it with his sword.

And so should his player...

Zelaz casts Charm Monster on the creature.

And what will Taranna do next? Her sleep spell didn't seem to work.

Diego Francisco Villablanca de la Lobos, seeing no honor in killing a clearly deranged man, strikes at the onrushing Joffrey with the flat of his blade.

Rapier of the Snake (THAC0 14): [1d20+2] = 6+2 = 8 [1d8] = 7

Taranna pegs the thing with a lightning bolt.

Lightning bolt: [8d6] = 48

OCC: Spell removed.
