I think I'm done with my town stuff too, and I'm staying in the stables.

From what Allric quoted, I get to add Job the Stablehand as an Ally.

So the only other town stuff is Allric concluding his wizardly business, and then anything Rabon wants to do (or tell us about, lol).

I'll email my friend again to see if he's actually going to join. Last I heard from him he had bought the pdf of the base rules. He wrote back and said he will join next week, after he gets back to the states.

I have no idea, but since as far as I know he has only the basics rules it will be on of the basic characters.

I'd nitpick on the Ally/Friend thing, but in the compressed and tenuous focus of the forums, sure. A Friend he will be.

To the group, then:
Which spell is better to acquire first is really a question of what our next expedition is.
- Magic Darts is important for breadth, making him a useful member for Fight / Drive Off conflicts.
- Supernal Vision deepens his unique expertise, letting him detect magic items, learn their use and purpose, and investigate magical sites (like a witch's hut or magically dark chapel)

I second that. I can hold my own in a fight as well, so doubling down on your niche seems good.

Can Rabon buy something (perhaps some preserved rations at Ob2) to get a second Resources test with his Wise?

So, for rations...
- We have none. We all have water or wine for an emergency.
- We can use a turn to have Thag hunt for us. (A single portion in the forest is Ob2 vs. 2D.) Rabon could then Cook to stretch it for the whole party.
- We can buy food. One slot of fresh rations (2 uses) for Ob 1. Or one slot of preserved rations (3 uses) for Ob2.

My main reason for suggesting buying rations was to get Rabon a second resources test with his Wise (if he succeeds twice he enters the next town with 2D Resources and his Wise). The same is true for anyone else who want s to buy something, but without the wise. Two resources tests is our first hurdle to get established.

The big problem is we are getting tighter on cash. If we want to make the purchase, we need to consider using Rabon or Berry's 2D cash starting gold. (I suggest we still keep the gems which are more efficient.)

So if the starting gold is used, does that make one of us only use our raw resources to get out of town? If so, then the person with the most persona left should prolly do it.

No, I allocated group coin for getting out of town:

- Thag gets 4D cash (+1D Fresh) to pass an Ob3 lifestyle test
- Allric gets 2D cash (+1D Fresh +1D Resources) to pass Ob2 lifestyle test.
- Rabon and Berry get 2D cash (+1D Fresh) each to pass Ob1 lifestyle tests

Right now, nobody has "raw resources" except Allric, who bumped to 1D when he bought the lantern oil. Hopefully everyone bumps with the lifestyle test.

Then I'll gladly spend my starting gold to snag food. We want preserved since 2d are easier to stretch that way?

Your call. Preserved is a little more expensive now but one additional use. Fresh are also 1Ob easier to cook with.

Ludanto, did you ever rule on the question of buying in bulk? Is it double ob or +1Ob for a second slot worth?

Oh that is good question, and I might just grab fresh because I can't read it seem x.x

Hmm. Looks like I missed the question about buying in bulk. I suppose the answer is that they are additive (although you could always just make multiple tests).

Don't forget, locals get a +1D Resources bonus (which I think just means Rabon in this case).

Oh, that's even better. If we can break up the tests then Berry and Rabon can both consider buying a slot of fresh rations. That'll have more of us at 2D Resources when we have left town.

So... If Berry or Rabon want to buy things, I say go for it.

Since I have the Wise, local status etc, what do you think about Rabon getting preserved rations instead?
