Chapter 16 - Tempus' recruiting drive

OOC: The party already had a camp just outside the cave, didn't they? Why not use that for another night?

Oh, and Lumenor would return to his vantage in the trees to stand watch.

"I'm happy to take third watch. I agree it's better to camp in here. There are to many dangers out in the open" says Lucas.

Lumenor outright refused to spend any more time within the cave system, it was unnatural. The elf had begun to grow weary of these people and their strange customs and he longed to return to the sylvan fortresses of his homeland. Besides, it was already past time he issued his report on these lands to his father.

"Sleep within this dank place if you wish, but I must be out under the open sky." he announced and moved his bushcraft sleeping mat a short distance to the mouth of the cavern.

OOC: When his time to stand watch comes, he does so from outside the cave opening.

Tempus weary of Lumenor, heartily agrees that may do as he wishes.

the Druid tries to settle down after his own watch and get some much needed rest.

Zo: I am going to get some rest.

Edited as I didn't realize we were on a 4 watch system.

The cold, clear night passes. Zo, Tempus, and Lucas take their watches inside the cave, while Lumenor takes comfort from the crescent moon in the sky.

In the morning, they ready themselves to head back to town.

Tempus will memorise Animal Friendship, Detect Magic, Entangle, Entangle, Faerie Fire, Speak with Animals, Charm Person or Mammal, Cure Light Wounds, Cure Light Wounds, Heat Metal, Summon Insects and Tree.

Once completing his meditations he will cast Cure Light Wounds upon his minor Wounds and be ready to leave after breaking his fast ok some fashions. [1d8] = 8

This will be brief - some work emergencies came up and I'm going to be busy for a few more days.

The party makes it back to town without incident. The nightman lair lies vacant. Mission accomplished.

Tempus, being a Protector of Masmuria, has been summoned to meet with the king's council. The group must decide what to do with the plate armor and magical armor. The non-magical armor can be refit to match the elves or Lucas, but the magical armor is too different from the others. Will the party sell it?

Once this is decided I can award XP. Might take awhile. Sorry!

Tempus votes to sell the dwarf Armour

Zo: We should sell the magical armor since none of us can wear it. The plate should go to Lucas.

OOC: To clarify, the magical armor is a plain suit of leather, yes? And the plate armor is dwarf sized and can't be used by anyone in the group (even if refitted)?

OOC: Actually, I take the comment back about the plate mail being dwarf-sized. As per the DM's description it'll fit a smallish human (5 1/2' tall). The magic leather armor was on a skeleton of a dwarf, which makes it more or less useless to current members of the group. What confused me was a comment by the DM where he said "if it's (the armor) dwarf-sized..." Anyway, sell both, divide the money. Lumenor would like to replenish his spent equipment and possibly acquire a new spell for his collection.

To be fair, we should sell both armors. Lucas can buy plate with the gold we split.

Tempus is able to give the magical leather armor to the kingdom. In exchange he receives 2000 gp. The plate armor fetches 280 gp. The party has also returned with 197 sp.

By my accounting, assuming an even split this means each player gets:

570 gp
49 sp
1 sp left over

Also, each PC is awarded 869 xp (plus any applicable bonuses). This will soon be reflected in your private fora.

The party reaches the gates of Alleborg, and are welcomed in by the guards. They know Tempus by name, and treat him with some deference. They seem slightly suspicious of the elves, but are friendly enough. By this time, the elves in the group are accustomed to this behavior in this human-centric world.

They go about their business, selling armor and looking for potential to re-equip. Near the end of the day, each are approached by a town guardsperson, their immediate presence in the court of the king has been requested...individually.
