Malibran pauses momentarily as the diabolic darkness engulfs him. With Khogeki battling the gargoyle, he reaches down with a prayer to lend aid to Risdac.

Cure Serious Wounds [2d8+1] = 5+1 = 6

Rool Diov

Rool reaches into a belt pouch and produces a potion of extra healing. He cradles Hallagad’s neck, so he can drink the healing elixir.

(Full potion)

Potion of Extra Healing = [3d8+3] = 10+3 = 13

He can sense the parasites growing in his skin, and fights off the urge to cringe and scrape at them with his hands. You ruttin' bastard!

The Unseen Servant:

In the darkness, the blinded monk's remaining senses seem to amplify.
  • ...his ears listen for the monster's breathing...
    • ... his nose sniffs for the monster's stench...
      • ...the soles of his feet feel for the vibrations of the monster's footfall...
Silent, patient, serene, he closes his eyes and anticipates where the monster will be, and that is where he places the Jade Destiny.

Jade Destiny: (Thac0:10): To hit: [1d20+3] = 19+3 = 22, damage: small/medium: [1d8+11] = 4+11 = 15, large: [1d10+11] = 6+11 = 17

Combat Round 7

On the vulture ledge:
The vulture man continues ripping at Tanner in a frenzy, inflicting minor scratches (-3 HP). Tanner fights back, clipping the edge of a leathery wing even as he scratches furiously at the spouts that continue to grow out of his skin (-2 HP).

In the corridor below:
In the darkness, Malibran feels his way towards Risdac. It's easy—all he has to do is follow the blood. The power of Pholtus brings Risdac from the brink of death, but not fully to back to the world of the living (+6 HP; Risdac still unconscious at 0 HP).

The Unseen Servant, his moniker more apt than usual, listens in the darkness for the sound of his foe. He smells the monster's stench and feels the monster's movements in the soles of his feet. He places Jade Destiny where he anticipates the monster will be. The monk hears and feels the monster's head hit the floor. The light returns just in time to see its body follow. (Vorpal weapon FTW.)

Further aft:
Rool pours a potion of healing down Hallagad's throat (+13 HP). The paladin sits up with a start.

Meanwhile, up on the aft ledge, Odilo continues his initiation into the what's-for-lunch club and Xale tries to fight off a swarm of insects. The toadman's mouth forms a wide amphibian grin. Twenty feet away on the ledge, the mold-covered statue begins to move!

Malibran, free to view the battlefield with the darkness now lifted, is grateful to Pholtus for granting him the companionship of such competence as he watches one more demon fall to his Will. Looking to aid the embattled Risdac once more, he utters a healing prayer to see him back on his feet and in the fight.

Cure Serious Wounds [2d8+1] = 9+1 = 10

He'll help him up and give him a quick rundown of the battle and the now (why should he be surprised, really) moving statue. He will retrieve his mace and shield and stand ready.

Rool Diov

Satisfied that Hallagad is safe, for the moment, Rool morphs back to the Large Spider and climbs up the wall to the ceiling and then around the corner to safety (Area 7). He will remain hidden here until the potion wears off and he returns to his normal form. (he'll stay in the corner of the wall, at a safe distance from the floor to avoid falling damage when he changes back).

The Unseen Servant:

As the darkness dissipates, the humble sensei has already sheathed the dazzling Jade Destiny.

He sprints directly up a vertical wall with the subtle aid of his magic ring, the Ethereal Moebius.

Without a sound, he alights on the ledge behind the graceless vulture demon and strikes its back with a calm, measured ferocity.

Open Hand to hit (Thac0: 10): [1d20] = 7, [1d20] = 4, [1d20] = 4, [1d20] = 19
Open Hand damage: [5d6] = 12, [5d6] = 15, [5d6] = 16, [5d6] = 14
Macro doesn't include bonuses for attacking from rear, if any.
Fyi, in open hand combat, he Stuns opponent for 1d6 rounds if hits by more than 4 on d20 "to hit" roll. Chance to kill = target's AC + 9%

att[1d20+3] = 16+3 = 19 THAC0 4

sword[1d8+3] = 5+3 = 8

Tanner's singing has stopped, and his voice is a constant, muttering string of profanity and vulgarity, sounding more like an attack dog's growl than speech.

mother-ruttin' shitepoke bastard-ass demon ruttin' garbage....

Hallagad gives Rool a nod of thanks - there is no time now for deeper displays of gratitude. Having felt the strength of these foes, the paladin realizes he must heal more before entering battle. He prays to Pelor as he lays hands of healing on himself.

Combat Round 8

On the vulture ledge:
The vulture-man monster continues its flurry of attacks. Again, it manages only to nick Tanner with a weak bite (-2 HP). But the sprouts continue to grow (-2 HP).

The Unseen Servant flies up from below and strikes just to the left of the monster's back.

In the corridor below:
Malibran utters a healing prayer, finally bringing Risdac back on his feet (+10 HP). The cleric helps him up and gives a hurried rundown of the battle, then goes to retrieve his mace and shield.

Further aft:
Rool shape-shifts again, changing back into a giant spider. Hallagad gives him a nod of thanks, but knows that he is needed in battle. There is no time now for deeper displays of gratitude. Hallagad prays to Pelor and lays hands of healing on himself (+30 HP).

On the aft ledge, Odilo pukes and Xale swats at the bothersome insects (-2 HP, and I forgot -2 HP from last round). The now-mobile moss-covered statue strides over to Xale and brings a stone fist down on the dwarf's head (-11 HP). The toad-man monster leaps at Odilo, striking with one taloned claw (-3 HP).

Notes:
As I mentioned previously, a character who is more than 10' away from his target gets only one attack. So Khogeki got one open hand attack. I used his first roll.
Status: Malibran (H LG C20[13](Pholtus)): 47/90; Khogeki (H LN M16): 47/78; Odilo (1/2E NG MU17): 22/54; Xale (D NG C14[9](Dalt)/F13): 20/75; Risdac (Giant NG MU17): 10/58; Tanner (H CG F19): 53/107; Rool (H LN T20): 3/85; Hallagad (H LG P15(Pelor)): 43/93

I guess let me know when i can actually do something.

Odilo still tries to summon the strength of will and mind to stop puking so he can actually help his friends.

Rool Diov

Figuring he’s near death, Rool will change back to human form and consume his last potion of healing.

What the heck, he can’t do much with 3 hit points. If he goes nova, at least he’s safely away from everyone else. :P

Potion of Extra Healing = [3d8+3] = 14+3 = 17

The Unseen Servant:

The tranquil warrior-philosopher strikes with precise savagery as he coolly states: "Demon, like all of your kind, you bring suffering and oppression primarily to yourself."

Open Hand to hit (Thac0: 10): [1d20] = 13, [1d20] = 10, [1d20] = 10, [1d20] = 5

Hallagad is intent upon wiping the smile off the grinning toad-man's face. He walks forward (if necessary), pulls the Hammer of Thunderbolts from his belt, and hurls it at the demonic creature.

Throw hammer of thunderbolts +3 (THAC0 6) [1d20+3] = 3+3 = 6 damage [2d6] = 7

Not sure if strength bonuses apply to hurled weapons...they aren't included

Xale

Xale will try to jump off the ledge in an effort to separate himself from the demon since he can't defend himself.

Risdac Egargi

Having regained consciousness, the mage attempts to make it more difficult for anything to return him to an unconscious state, using his staff to cast Protection from Evil on himself.
