You come through the pantry using the secret door. There is hubub obvious through the door north (into 232): both male and female bugbear. None of you can tell what they are talking about, but the smell of food suggests cooking.

A voice comes near and the door opens. surprise [1d6] = 2 The bugbear stops mid-sentence and the look of shock on his face suggests that you have surprised the bugbears.

It looks like more than a dozen of them are in here!

Short bow +1 (THAC0 19): [1d20+5] = 4+5 = 9 [1d6+1] = 3+1 = 4

I forgot to top off Odo's arrows. Can I do that now? I had him at 13 arrows, so buying 7 more should be 1gp, 2sp, 5cp.

Bror will swing glimmer at the nearest bugbear to the entrance 'Glimmer' Hand Axe +1 [1d20+2] = 12+2 = 14 to Hit [1d6+1] = 3+1 = 4 DMG

Taking caution to stay out of the stinking cloud, Calmert will strike at any Bugbear fleeing the stink cloud.

Bugger All round 1

Acting on the party's surprise, the battle commences.

Thurwin reaches out and spreads his fingers, flame lancing from them. He's able to get four bugbears in the arc.
Odo (who topped off his arrows in town, much to his alarm) fires high, the heat of the flames disrupting the arc of his arrow.
Glimmer just misses and Bror is unpleased.
Tavin steps in and his blow hit armor rather than flesh.
Calthas Calthas longbow [1d20+2] = 3+2 = 5, dmg [1d8] = 8 has the same trouble as Odo.
Zef is also unable to connect.
Calmert Calmert mace [1d20] = 19, dmg [1d6] = 4 thumps a baddie, but it just makes it mad!
Sean Calmert mace [1d20] = 19, dmg [1d6] = 4 swings wide.

The bugbears are mad that you've interrupted supper. They will attack next round for sure!

Odo stays back and tries to hit one of the bugbears who isn't in melee.

His aim is only slightly better than his previous shot.

Thurwin steps back a bit as he casts sleep, trying to put to sleep the closest bugbears to the party.

OOC: If we get too stretched here, we can fall back and I can stinky cloud the escape route. Just keep in mind...

Bror even if he is unpleased by his missed attack swings glimmer again with a sneer and a growl at the bugbear. 'Glimmer' Hand Axe +1 [1d20+2] = 13+2 = 15 to Hit [1d6+1] = 6+1 = 7 DMG
