Hate to see you go, man. I really enjoyed how you and Rusty Tincanne were role-playing Mila and AdaRue respectively.

You're welcome to join back in if and when you're ready.

Zhym, AdaRue has 100 gp and will help pay for the cart, feed and another mule or pony or whatever. She would prefer to sell these upon getting to Brighton, as pack animals are an annoyance to me. :)

Mila left us yet more money. Don't know how much or if we should really use it.

I'm really busy this weekend, so any IC posts will need to wait until Monday. Sorry.

Hello, folks. Hope you can use more help.

Welcome, panglott, good to have you on board. A few things:
  • Regarding your character sheet, I award your experience point bonus up front each level (per here: Experience Points), so please have Dimly starting with 109xp to reflect his 5% bonus;
  • I am able to see all rolls made in the game, so you do not need to include the links to your rolls for your ability scores;
  • I moved the update you made to the 'V. Roganter - Extended Visits' thread (which was locked), as I am going to have you join the group there. This will allow Dimly and the rest of the party to spend the full day journey from Roganter to Brighton to familiarize themselves with each other;
  • For the IX. Brighton thread, you, and everyone else, should use it to introduce your characters to Mayor Thatcher -- that's where we're at.

Any problems or questions, definitely feel free to ask. Welcome, again.

49pp should get a covered cart and something to pull it quite nicely, I'd think.

Thanks, I made those adjustments. I meant to post before leaving Roganter, but spent a bit too much time on my character sheet. I assume Dimly will have spent some time getting to know the party on the road from Roganter to Brighton.

Correct. While the rest of the group are all childhood friends, they proved, by accepting Hastin as easily as they did, to take on new members with ease.

Well Hastin was a human male with some meat on his bones. If course AdaRue and Mila were going to accept him. Especially considering the other options available. ;)

I have added details about the Brightontip arrows in the 'Weapons' house rule, here.

Question: Not that I expect for there to be too many more updates like my last few, but what would be your preference for the future:
  • Walls of text (e.g. this),
  • Smaller individual posts that address a specific question?

It may be that a single post—text wall or not—may be easier to sustain the thread of the narrative; whatever works best for you.

Dimly expects to focus on meleel a shortbow is better than a sling, but it may be better for ranged specialists to have the Brightontip arrows.

Dimly is willing to take a position at the front of the marching order.

I think Keebler should have a full quiver of 20 arrows. He took some of Tippin's arrows.

Fixed.
All archers have been updated to have 20 normal arrows and 5 of the new arrows.

Would anyone have had a chance to try to get the remaining goblin with a long-range bow shot while it was considering what to do?

Zhym wrote:Would anyone have had a chance to try to get the remaining goblin with a long-range bow shot while it was considering what to do?
No.

Per page 54 of the LL rules, the maximum range for a short bow is 150-feet (a long bow is 210-feet). Because Keebler is the only one with a long bow, and he is the one that cast the spell, he would not have time to also get off a shot.

Besides, the surviving goblin would have almost certainly been beyond the 210-feet range by the time Keebler would have been able to get off a shot. The range of 'Sleep' was 240-feet, so, in my mind, I had the group close to within 200-feet or so. By the time everyone else got off the trail and hid, and by the time Keebler was able to perform everything he needed to perform in order to cast his spell, I'm fairly certain the goblins and cart could have moved at least 10-feet, but not 40-feet, which would already put it at maximum range.

Oh, Horatio has a long bow as well.

If you want, you can have him take a single shot at long range (-1).

I already had Junius and Rainey slaying all the sleeping goblins, but did you want to leave one alive? I can easily work that in, if so. Just let me know.

Fenland, the vagabond, continues to back away. "Don't try to run, friend," Dimly growls. "I'm sure you saw the shot Horatio here just made." The archer himself lays into Fenland: "The hell?" he exclaims, drawing his bow and leveling it at the would-be thief. "Stay on your side of the street, interop—I mean, how dare you attempt to pick a holy man's pocket, you thieving scoundrel!"
Canun, too, readies his shield and brings his mace to hand, causing Fenland to backpedal more quickly. "You'll go nowhere until we get some answers from you!" the cleric demands.

"I'll just be on my way now. See, no harm done," he says, opening his empty hands. The man turns to flee... then gets brained by Canun!
Hope I didn't just kill a PC! :lol:

HAHAHA! :lol:

It was a legit NPC, so no worries. That would have been pretty funny, though. Maybe not for the player, but big picture.
