Tavin - Monk
Rolling his eyes, Tavin does and overhead chop.
Trying again: [1d20] = 17
Damage:
Damage, anyone: [2d4] = 4 + 1
5hp total, yay!

Re: Part 10 - The Temple Again
Effric keeps chopping away at the garbage-thing!
Effric attack [1d20+2] = 10+2 = 12 damage [1d8+2] = 7+2 = 9
"We don't seem to be hurting it - maybe a retreat is in order?" Effric says.

Re: Part 10 - The Temple Again
Calthas continues his sniping routine, noticing that two of his party mates engaged in melee with the smelly enemy are shorter in height. "This is as it should be." he thinks to himself.
Re: Part 10 - The Temple Again
What an incredible smell you've discovered! round 3
Initiative players [1d6] = 2, baddies [1d6] = 3
The monster lashes again who [1d8] = 7, [1d8] = 4, [1d8] = 8 monster attack [1d20] = 9, [1d20] = 6, [1d20] = 6 but his tentacles and bite all miss!
Calmert misses again (and the DM missed a fumble roll, I suppose that's good for you ) and Odo's shot flies wide! Tavin does a graceful flip ending in a hard whack on the creature. While it distracts Bror, who misses, Thurwin is able to zap the monster! Sean PC attack [1d20] = 19 chops away dmg [1d8] = 5. Effric, missing like a champ, suggests retreat, while Calthas Calthas longbow [1d20+2] = 15+2 = 17, dmg [1d8] = 4 splits the difference between his shorter comrades and the creature's eyes, putting it down for good!
The monster is dead. This place stinks, observes Sean.

Re: Part 10 - The Temple Again
"So," says Odo, "do any of you taller chaps want to go get the chest? I'm not keen on wading into a pile of garbage taller than I am. If you would be so kind as to hand me any arrows you happen to see, I would be much obliged. Unless they're covered in gunk, in which case I will just do without them thank you very much."

Thurwin - wizard
Thurwin removes his cloak and robe and says "let me fetch that." He'll carefully wade in with his staff to retrieve the coffer.

Re: Part 10 - The Temple Again
A near-nekkid Thurwin wades into the garbage to get the coffer. Pulling it out, he dislodges some filth under the monster and notes that it seemed to be sitting in a nest of sorts. Coin and jewelry sit under its bulk if anyone decides to go for it.
The wizard pulls the coffer out, slimy with garbage, and it slips from his fingers. The lid is dislodged and there appears to be a scroll within.

Thurwin - Wizard
Thurwin winces at the smell and texture of his surroundings and barely stifling his gag reflex, he says weakly "Ugh... there's some coin in here. Urrrrrrp!"
He'll tuck the scroll into his boot or hand it off to someone, then he'll use his staff to pick through the garbage to gather any loot he can see.
As he gathers he says "After this, I'm going to need to go to that room with the water, if you don't mind..."

"Yes. I vote to leave this stench behind. A bath is fine for you, Thurwin, I'll stand guard."

Re: Part 10 - The Temple Again
Effric recovers his staff. "Sorry, gents. But we did recover a scroll." He catches a whiff of Thurwin and gives him a wide berth.
Re: Part 10 - The Temple Again
Calthas gives up the idea of recovering his arrows (how many was that?) and observes with an astonished look his fellow wizard wade into the dirt to recover a mere scroll. Intrigued, he asks if he can try to decipher it.

Nodding in agreement concerning the smell. Let's be away from this smell... I think the odor could even break the concentration of the old masters.

Thurwin recovers the scroll and peeks at it. It has seven magic-user spells: magic missile, knock, mirror image, web, slow, rary's mnemonic enhancer and a new cantrip, febreze.

Bror stays back out of Odo's way and allows him to work.
