Good to hear thanks Brandon

So you are all in this observatory in the center of the level. You see fishes--alien strange fishes, but fishes nonetheless--through the glass walls. Nothing else appears to be of interest. Where to next?

Re: OOC chat
Dunno I've honestly forgotten what our primary goal was in here lol Aside from that side deal we made with some Vegemites that we appear to have opted out of doing now.

Re: OOC chat
We were supposed to investigate strange goings on and get to the bottom/stop them. Something like that. Personally I’d like to roast all the veggies...

Re: OOC chat
Grimes and Castinus are supposed to accomplish something in order to appease some demon/deity so we won't get sucked back into Blackrazor. Other than that, it's just "kill the monsters and take their stuff," right?

Yep, find demon thingy, I guess we'll know what it is when we see it. Other than that kill everything and collect swag.
Maybe we head for the elevator and go down another level.

Re: OOC chat
Just an FYI I am taking the next 3 days off from work to take my family out to do some more stuff before schools starts so I likely will not be posting much or near a computer all that often for the next 2-3 days.

Re: OOC chat
Hey guys, I'm of two minds (no pun intended) on this alien. Closing the door and running like the Dickens makes perfect sense, and is what I would probably do myself. But I'm wondering if we should try to take this guy down before he has a chance to alert anybody else.
Thoughts?
More than likely, they already know we're here, and have been tracking our every move, but eliminating this guy could buy us just a little more time. Time to do what, I'm not sure.As Obi-Wan Kenobi might have said if he were here wrote:"The Mind Flayers frighten easily--and by frighten I mean frighten us!--but they will soon be back and in greater numbers."
Thoughts?

I agree, I think we hit this guy hard and fast and hope we can kill him or throw him off his game. And if we beat him, Grimes is going to make calamari out of his dumb looking head.tumblingdice wrote:Hey guys, I'm of two minds (no pun intended) on this alien. Re: OOC chat
What does it matter who's in front? The mind flayer can attack us with its brain.
BTW, the mind flayer has one of my favorite Monster Manual illustrations. It's not high art, but it's fun: The zigzag rays; the wavy mind lines over the illithd's head; the "!!" next to it; the expressions on the party's faces—even the brazier, the wall art (are illithids all fans of abstract art, or just this one?), the point hat blown off the wizard's head, and the wand in mid-drop are just great. Heck, you don't see many illustrations with wallpaper strips near the ceiling.
And then there's that checkerboard thing in the party. I suppose that's supposed to be a shield, but it looks like the party was surprised just as they were about to have a picnic.
I love that illustration.
(Also: a wizard, a fighter, and a halfling against a mind flayer? They are so dead.)
