"Right now, those bandits have no idea how many of us there are... we should maybe keep it that way, in case they have someone watching the entrance to the tower here."

Karl speaks up. " I am willing to stay and push forward, so long as we have healing available. As for the loot, my view is that we should divvy it up at the end, when ever that may be."

Prologue 1.2 (Adventuring)
579 CY, Goodmonth 11 (5:30am)
54h/44l, 10mph

"Very well..." Cole says as he takes a seat next to the doorway watching the courtyard. He is exhausted.

A half an hour goes by as Quoros finishes up prayer and regains his spells.

The DM will pause the guard here for any actions by Quoros and let me know when I can proceed with the last 2.5 hours.

Nothing unusual or different, I suppose.

Quoros will watch from the arrow slits for the most part, avoiding showing himself in the doorway. He does try to keep an eye on areas outside the structures as much as inside, in case there is a back way out the bandits are using and he is able to spot any activity of their leaving.

Other than that, he makes sure he does not show himself in the light coming into the tower.

After watching out the door for a while (from his cover to the left of the door), Gandrel turns:

"Can someone tie the prisoner up as I have no rope. Just to be sure he doesnt make a miracleous recovery and run for it however unlikely this seems right now. Cole - why dont you get some sleep? It sounds like you need maximum concentration for your task. We will wake you if anything of interest occurs."

"Aye," Cole responds as he doesn't move yet shuts his eyes where he sits.

Is anyone tying up the prisoner before guard continues?

"I haven't any rope, either." Castien admits. "Perhaps, if no one has any, the excess fabric from my sash, which is currently being used as a gag, could be cut and used to bind him as well?"

Gandrel is slow off the mark - perhaps he has an extra long blink:

Prologue 1.2 (Adventuring)
579 CY, Goodmonth 11 (7:00am)
54h/44l, 10mph

Two hours pass and going into the final hour of watch, Quoros begins to hear scratching sounds in different areas of the tower. They are faint but grow more and more irritating. Looking towards the courtyard, the dwarf sees a few 5-12" sized rats invading the roughly two hour old corpses of the brigands.

Note: It is a clear morning and all are able to use their full, normal vision in areas of the moathouse with no roof. All except the parts cast in shadow...

Quoros quietly points out the rats to anyone who is awake and hasn't noticed them.

"Time to wake the others?" he asks in a whisper.

ooc: That depends. Did Castien sleep long enough to be able to recover his spell? ;)

Yes, Castien did. Cole in the meantime has nodded off sitting with his back to a tower wall from exhaustion.

"There's only a handful of rats, and they look as if they're going to eat their fill," Ausus says quietly. "As long as we're no threat to them, I doubt they'll bother us. If we're lucky, they may even fall asleep after gorging themselves, and we can slay them at leisure."

OOC: Ausus would like to use his Animal Lore proficiency to try to determine how correct that assessment is...

Prologue 1.2 (Adventuring)
579 CY, Goodmonth 11 (8:00am)
54h/44l, 10mph

The final hour of rest passes as Ausus and the others awake view the rats cautiously. It turns out the warrior's assessment is somewhat correct as eventually a total of eight rats appear and they proceed to pick apart the bodies of the bandits. They then scatter into areas unknown.

Cole is still asleep, a brigand is bound and gagged in the corner, and everyone is rested after Castien takes a quick 10 minutes to memorize his one spell. Sleep spell still or different?

The group may now proceed with the adventure as usual!
