The Long Route, Day 36

After everyone awakes on day 36, you survey the surroundings of your location on the Long Route. Nuv Vano is somewhere to the east, an estimated 12-days journey. The proximity of Pigmonn territory occupies your thoughts and the realization that you have around 13-days rations gives urgency to continue on, but with caution. There are fresh tracks on the route that appear to be heading in an easterly direction.

Careful not to foul the tracks on the trail to Nu Vano, Bruze takes to the air. The human bat rides the hot wind, scanning for food or anything that might be coming. He watches over the party, as Bhatt Mhann watches over all of them.

Jack "Well at least it's not dull. But it's starting to become always something to worry about.Lets not disturb all of the tracks might be able to check them to get an idea of who or what left them." the former sheriff will investigate the tracks.

The Long Route, Day 36

Flying high and circling the group, Bruze scans the perimeter out to the horizons. He sees the Long Route stretch to the west and to the east, where it drops over an ancient, low cliff that runs north to south about two miles ahead. Beyond the cliff, the terrain pitches down and away from the cliff at a slight angle. The terrain to the east of the cliff looks different than what you have traveled through thus far; including the Gam’A Zone. It is lighter in color and relatively featureless, except for low, rippling dunes.

Jack analyzes the tracks and determines they were made by a single group of humanoids wearing shoes, perhaps numbering eight. Their pace, to the east, appears to be at a normal rate and not indicative of harassed travel.

Jack after relaying his tracking findings to the others "Well boys what do you think? Humans or maybe the pigmonn again? Shall we continue our course?"

Works for me, dude. If they have no problems, maybe we won't, either. How long ago were they through here?

Jack tries to determine roughly how long ago the

were made. "I'll give the tracks another check here but they are fresh let me see if i can estimate how long ago. I'm sure it was at least within the last twelve hours."

The size, shape and gait of the tracks do not match your observation of the Pigmonn. The tracks are not more than twelve hours old.

Jack done examining tracks any more for the time being "Best I can tell these tracks were left somewhere between nine and eleven hours ago. Best I can tell you. That and they definitely do not match the tracks of a pigmonn. More likely travelers like us left these."

Bruze descends from the heavens like a fallen angel. He alights near his friends and reports on the coming change of terrain, and its lack of cover. Then he climbs back up into the sky, returning to his post as sentinel.

The bat-winged guardian angel swoops down again to report: "Two miles ahead, where the Long Route dips over a shallow cliff, there are tall rocks that cast the only shadows in this open country."

Bart, MH

"Shall we headed out... tall rocks, eh, good place for an ambush. It would be a nice change from combat to meet some friendly's."

What do we know of Nuv Vano as a group?

Blixx

"I think they may just be travellers as we are, maybe we could trade for some food and water if we can catch up to them" Blixx suggests.

How is our current food and water situation will we make it to Nuv Vano? Also, has Blixx's infection run it's course?

Nuv Vano is on the coast of the Eastern Sea. It is a major trading post for goods harvested from the ocean and settlements accessible by the sea.

Nuv Vano is ruled by a mutant known as the “Glistening One” who maintains control through henchmen know as the “Tentacles”. There are conflicting stories of slavery in Nuv Vano.

One must cross a great salt waste to reach Nuv Vano and there are rumors of a great bridge that is the only route over a bottomless canyon.

You estimate that it is 12-days travel to the city from here. You have 13 days of provisions.

Blixx’s infection has yet to run its course. He is still “under the weather”.

Belial knuckles along with the others, keeping an eye out for trouble- and critters. He's foraging as they move, looking for large bugs, small lizards, and whatever else he might consider edible.
If I score some snacks, I'll make sure you dudes know, so you can have a share. This is partly to help stretch the rations.

The Long Route, Day 36

You travel the distance to the tall rocks near the shallow cliff. The area before the rocks is littered with evidence of several encampments varying with age. It is apparent, though, that someone camped here in the last 10 hours.

The tall rocks are pieces of ancient cast stone, battered and worn, used long ago for another purpose.

There is graffiti on the rocks, written in the pigmonn language.

The area beyond the rocks is more desolate that the current environment. It is mixed with light-colored deposits from farther east.

Belial is able to scrounge a few bugs for food, but not enough to extend the rations beyond 13 days.

In the shadows of the twin monoliths, Bruze quietly asks, "Can any of you read Pigmonn? This face symbol looks aggressive. Or sick."
Nice drawings, Norjax!
