Raffy turns the turret as far clockwise as he can. After he maxes out the rotation, he calls out. "I need three more hours, turn right!."

He begins to cycle back to the computer to target the incoming chopper.

timing his shot he fires as soon as he gets a clear, straight shot.

Billy Barstowe

Trying to provide a hard right turn in order for Raffy to target the incoming chopper, Billy stomps the brake as he whips the wheel to the right before punching the gas again. No need to make themselves an easy target for the troops on foot!

Billy Barstowe jams the 'wheel' of the Shilka over hard to the right and the treads of the armored AA gun squealed with the sound of metal-on-metal as a wide, right turn was made, jamming everyone hard to the side in their seats for a moment.....

Billy's view out the window slits changed from the makeshift hangar and the wrecked helicopter and burning fuel drums to a panoramic view of several buildings flashing by in a whirl, to a crowd of soldiers setting up big machineguns on tripods and a couple carrying RPGs getting into position off to the far right while right in front of him and up in the sky, the flashing lights of a HIND attack helicopter bearing down towards them, it's front gun ablaze in orange light and numerous clods of earth exploding up into the sky as the line of fire 'walked' closer and closer to them....

Image

Jenny felt like she was finally getting a good grip on reading out the radar display and called out; "Okay, we're getting closer to being pointed right at-"; her words were cut off as Billy took them in a tight circle and the one-time-nurse-turned-freedom-fighter grit her teeth and as they came out of the turn, called out; "-it NOW! 12 o'clock Raffy!" she yelled out excitedly, while unconsciously flinching back from the sound of 'hail' on the outside of the vehicle getting louder and louder....

Raffy saw the sight of the HIND fill his scope at the same time the aiming box was filled with light and with a smile the young Latino jammed the firing button down and he couldn't help but let out a whoop of joy as the burst of 23mm rounds roared out of the quad barrels of the Shilka and intercepted the flight path of the HIND and set it crashing down in a fiery ball.....

Up above, half in and half out of the turret, Saul did his best to try and pay attention to everything going on around them as he braced his ears against the sounds of machinegun fire, cannon-fire and the engine humming right underneath and behind him. He also flinched here and there as a bullet zipped past his head and arms. He watched with satisfaction as Raffy elevated the cannons and put a burst into the HIND gunship headed for them, dropping it out of the sky in a blaze of flame. He then saw the gathered couple dozen or so troops to their right with a pair of Heavy Machineguns lowered onto tripods and belts being slammed in while a pair of grenadiers with RPGs moved to the front of the group of troops and lowered themselves to one knee to take aim.....

Saul- Everyone if you can throw a grenade throw it at the troops or hand them up to me. If not open fire on them.

Saul will toss his grenade at the RPG squad.

"Turn right" Raffy yells, lowering the barrels to target the new threat. Once the ground troops come into sight, he begins to lay down a ribbon of lead.

The wild night-fight between the 4 freedom fighters in the commandeered ZSU-23-4 Shikla and the Russian Air Assault Company continued....

Billy Barstowe jammed the vehicle hard to the right, in response to Raffy's commands, noticing the flames from the burning hangar coming back into view again, showing that they were about to complete a circle. He also noticed several people in distinct helmets and baggy flight suits running for the 2 remaining intact helicopters....

Jenny did her best to stay in her seat as she searched for her grenade to hand to Saul and tossed it up to him while bracing herself as Billy jammed the vehicle over hard in a tight turn....well, as tight a turn as a treaded vehicle could make anyway. She let out an involuntary shriek as the sounds of 'hail' suddenly got a loud louder and a few heavy caliber rounds slammed into and through the turret of the vehicle, one of them richocheting before falling on her bare forearm and giving a slight burn that made her jump, but did no lasting damage*. The realization that she could now SEE and HEAR out of half-a-dozen-holes to her left made her a lot more nervous however....

Raffy's world was the gunner's sights and as he saw the platoon of troops forming up and begining to fire on them with a pair of Heavy Machineguns on tripods just starting to fire their way and a pair of men wielding RPGs he opened up with a long burst from the quad 23mm cannons. The heavy rounds devastated about two thirds of the 30 or so men gathered in a group; many of them being completely pulped into gory puddles and others suddenly diving, running, rolling away in terror. Belatedly, the ringing in Cabrera's ears told him some enemy fire had opened a few holes in the turret of the vehicle as well and out of the corner of his eye he could see the ammo for the quad cannons was already half-way depleted....

On the top of the turret, Saul leaned down and gathered up the grenade that Jenny handed to him and then he popped his upper half back out and witnessed the destruction of about two-thirds of the Soviet platoon by Raffy's cannon-fire and the last third of the troops running too and fro in every direction. Looking around, he immediately saw two more threats....The first was the aircrew running for the last two remaining helicopters, the second was a squad of eight troops gathered on thier left flank, away from where the much larger group they had just fired upon had been; with a grenadier pointing an RPG at them. He quickly primed the grenade and heaved it thier way, just as he saw that squad open up on them, including the distinctive WHOOSH of the RPG being fired. He suddenly heard and felt a number of rounds zip past his head and upper body and then felt the hot sting of a round slamming into his upper right chest/shoulder area** along with the more loud and shaking impact of the RPG rocket slamming into thier left treads. Saul knew INSTANTLY they were immobilized (though the turret could still rotate) and he dropped back down into the vehicle right after his grenade exploded; dropping 4 or 5 of the Russian troops, including the RPG wielder. This DID leave 3 or 4 troops still out there though and now thier vehicle couldn't move...

Billy suddenly could hear/feel the vehicle lurch down and shake violently before suddenly refusing to move....reminding him of a time when his Dad's jeep got its tires stuck in the mud on a camping trip when he was a kid....

*Jenny was merely grazed

**Saul is Wounded and at -1D for all actions until he is treated for his injuries

Willing the vehicle to move, Billy realizes they are not going anywhere else until they can get out. Fuck! They hit us, and we're dead in the water! Raffy, I saw pilots heading to the last choppers- can you take out those birds before they get in the air?

Saul climbs out of the vehicle. Firing his Uzi at the pilots with one hand while covering his wound with the other.

Jenny

"Saul! What are you doing?" She yells as Saul leaves the tank. "Get some shots on those helicopters, I'm going to try and cover him!"

Jenny takes Saul's old spot at the top of the turret, and fires a burst at the group that was just shredded by a grenade.

Raffy immediately strafes back to the left, hoping that the turret will go far enough to bring the two remaining helicopters into view......

From his solo position in the driver's seat/compartment; Billy called out to Raffy thru the headset intercom to tell him about the helicopter crewmen rushing towards the last two intact Soviet helicopters. He was gratified to hear the turret turning in the direction of the choppers and soon the satisfying sound/feel of the cannons opening fire reverberated through the vehicle and his bones. However, the young rocker's attention was on a pair of Russian troops rushing his way and starting to climb onboard the 'Shilka' with AKs in thier hands and grenades dangling on thier web belts. Suddenly, his hands started itching to be filled with his Dad's .45 pistol that was holstered on his hip....

Jenny cried out after Saul, but her attention was on the remnants of the squad of troops that had just been hit by the grenade Silverman had thrown a moment ago. It appeared that 4 of the troops survived the blast more or less okay; and two of them rushed towards the front of the ZSU-23-4 while one member of the other pair took aim at her while the last went for the RPG that was in the hands of a soldier who had been gorily finished off by the grenade a moment or two ago. Jenny's vision and aim were thrown off as Raffy suddenly moved the turret and opened up on targets on the opposite side she was facing, but she couldn't spare her attention to see just what as she was involuntarily screaming and ducking from shots fired by the Soviet soldier on the ground. When she realized she was still alive, she fired a burst of her own from her AKSU carbine and was pleased to see her burst slam into the Russian's torso and drop him unmoving onto his back. Her smile quickly faded though when she saw that the other soldier had gathered up the RPG and was loading a new rocket in it....

Inside the ZSU-23-4 'Shilka's' turret, Raffy heard Billy's call over the intercom and he kept his eyes glued to the aiming scope and he rotated the target until the last 'HIND' came into sight and he opened up with the quad 23mm cannons, quickly smashing the chooper to pieces. He WAS a bit more dismayed however to see the last 'HIP' transport helicopter starting to take off and he quickly did his best to roated the turret and raise the cannons to bring the last chopper into his sights...

Hopping down and out of the vehicle, Saul cursed in pain as the shock of the jump made his bullet wound ACHE even worse than it already was. He was on the opposite side of the vehicle as the squad he had just thrown the grenade at and he quickly scanned the ground around him to spot a pair of Russian aircrew racing for a gunship and he raised his UZI submachinegun and cut loose a pair of bursts that dropped both crewmembers to the ground, never to rise again. He had little time to gloat though as the sounds of men climbing onto the vehicle behind him made him spin around in time to see two Russians climbing up onto the front of the vehicle; clearly wincing in pain from the loud roar of the cannons firing just above them. He could tell they would soon tear open the driver's hatch to try to take out Billy, but as he raised his UZI one of them put a burst from an AK into him and he dropped to the ground; the sky wheeling above him as he suddenly felt as if he had just been hit by semi-truck on the freeway*....

*Saul is now SERIOUSLY WOUNDED; he is at -2D for any and all actions and can barely move and will bleed out fairly quickly (within an hour or so) if not treated

**The current situation is on HIP chopper in the Air; 2 troops on the front of the vehicle where Billy can see them and 1 with an RPG on the opposite side of the vehicle from a badly wounded Saul that Jenny can see.

Billy Barstowe

Knowing there is nothing more he can do with the ZSU, Billy switches his focus to the Soviet troops climbing onto the vehicle. Knowing he only has a second or two before the enemy will be upon them, Billy draws the .45 without even thinking about it and fires at both the invaders.

Billy will use one Hero Point as he is firing at multiple targets. I'm not sure how the vehicle is laid out. If there is a slot he can fire through, he will. If he needs to open a hatch to attack, he will.

Hearing Saul cry out from beside the vehicle, Jenny responds with a burst of adrenaline. She lines up the rpg-wielder, fires twice, and then drops down to assess Saul. "Hang on! I'm coming!"

uses one hero point.

Raffy pulls hard on the left stick and pushes on the right, squeezing the trigger as he does so, burning the ammo as he plans to bail. Once the cannons stop, he scrambles out and runs like he just stole a corvette,

Billy takes a deep breath and quickly pulls his Dad's .45 and flicks off the safety and works the slide to chamber a bullet while the pair of Soviet soldiers climb up onto the front of the 'Shilka'. He then bursts into motion, throwing the hatch open, surprising the two Russians and he quickly puts a round into one Soldier's face and the other's chest in some insanely quick and accurate shots. As the two men fall limply to the ground and/or vehicle, the young Rocker-turned-Rebel stares at the pistol in amazed shock for a moment. Then he shakes his head and scrambles off the front of the immobilized vehicle and finds himself near Jenny and a badly shot-up Saul lying crumpled on the ground....

Jenny bursts into action herself from the top of the 'Shilka's' turret, putting a pair of bursts from her AKSU into the RPG carrying solider; dropping him unmoving to the earth and then scrambling down to the ground to move over to a fallen Saul. She quickly glances at his wounds and realizes that he's in bad shape, but he's not going to bleed out in the next few minutes. A second later, a panting Billy Barstowe scrambles over to where she is crouching next to a fallen Saul....

Raffy cranked the turret around and up; oblivious to everything except the big HIP helicopter taking off, he let out a yell as he pressed the firing buttons; watching the tracers from the quad 23mm guns streak up into the night sky and 'walk' their way closer and closer to the Soviet machine. The blazing cannon rounds eventually intersected with the helicopter and it broke apart in mid-air, falling to the ground in pieces at about the same time the cannons ceased firing due to the ammunition running dry. Cabrera then scrambled out of the machine, taking in the scene of chaos all around them with fires blazing over near the make-shift hangar bays; Russian soldiers fleeing into the night and his buddies huddled over a bleeding and on the ground Saul. The young Rebel hopped down and hustled over to where his fellow rebels were and Saul looked up at him with a pain-filled smile and said; "Nice shooting kid. Now let's get the hell outta here!"

"Shut it! We are not leaving you here. Let's get you to the canoes and I"ll patch you up." She turns to Billy "Give me a hand here, we'll carry him down the hill."

She then drops her voice to a whisper "Please be careful, I don't know if he'll be able to be moved, but we can't stay here."
