Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
Another delayed post, today, with my fullest apologies.
Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
That was my fault, my apologies! I'll be on my best behaviour in future and post when I'm supposed to.
Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
Just a note: I think we should make it policy to always trigger every possible trap/challenge/attack in a room simultaneously! It makes things so much more interesting!
Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
No concerns for delays from me, Pulpatoon. Right now school is kicking my ass and I apologize for my repeated tardiness.
Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
Totally not your fault! It's end-of-semester madness, right now. Although I'll consider it a bonus that this delay gave you a chance to hop in!Starbeard wrote:That was my fault, my apologies! I'll be on my best behaviour in future and post when I'm supposed to.

I am sorely tempted to lift a few more hatches just to test the theory.mb. wrote:Just a note: I think we should make it policy to always trigger every possible trap/challenge/attack in a room simultaneously! It makes things so much more interesting!

Well, I was assuming that the princess was a trap/opponent, not a new PC.Rusty Tincanne wrote:I am sorely tempted to lift a few more hatches just to test the theory.

I'm a cautious man so: the only way to be sure is to kill her.

Try it, I dare you!

Is there any other way...?mb. wrote:Just a note: I think we should make it policy to always trigger every possible trap/challenge/attack in a room simultaneously! It makes things so much more interesting!
Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
At this point, I'll judge events based more on how well you "act." If you can convince me that you're convincing them it'll go a lot further than a die roll. However, if things are tipping in the balance (and, particularly, if there is danger as a direct consequence of failing), I'll look for a roll.Rowenn552 wrote:Basil Day
I'm not sure if you're taking dice rolls for things but essentially Basil is attempting to persuade these wooden soldiers into attending a meeting on the other side of the portal into space.

Tactics like this make a GMs heart go pitter-pat.Rusty Tincanne wrote:Basically looking to animate one or two statues, preferably the ones nearer to the soldiers, if that makes sense.
MAXIMUM CHAOS!

I am also curious to see how Greed and Envy play out with one another.
If the Soldier officer or another soldier had a weapon near him, he would take that instead...
And I love that Flash Gordon movie! That and clash of the titans were my favorite movies growing up. [/nostalgia]

I was just a moment ago explaining to my girls how great this movie was...Rusty Tincanne wrote:I am also curious to see how Greed and Envy play out with one another.

You must mean how great the movie is! Sounds like a family movie night to me.ChubbyPixie wrote:I was just a moment ago explaining to my girls how great this movie was...Rusty Tincanne wrote:I am also curious to see how Greed and Envy play out with one another.

I saw Flash Gordon as a kid with my father, who kept talking about how much he loved the old Flash Gordon serials, and how cheap and cheesy they were, and how that was part of the fun. And I remember being disappointed that this movie wasn't cheesy at all! [/irony]

Is this chamber being a dead end reasonable given what we know about the castle? I'm sure we can just go down and explore other areas, send the wooden army home?
I run a blog. I also run a site for campaign wikis. I wrote a face generator, a character generator, a dungeon mapper, a Traveller subsector generator, and a hex map generator (editable as text).

Is it true that we have not seen the entirety of this room due to the vastness? Perhaps we should walk around the place with torches to look for other clues.
And I like the way we're solving this riddle. One mistake at a time!
