If Mark'd is trying to secure the services of Foxy in the tavern to assist in the Baudhic relic recovery, she won't be fully healed and rested until after the festival.

It had been Clay's intent to have her healed up a bit more than he did - I just hadn't realized that you were so far below zero. So she could ask him. He might be willing to help an Eruannan on a Baudhic mission - If it would help the Beithan secure ownership of a hex. ;)

If Markd waits until Clay and Fingers and the halflings return, then Bandy will go back out with them, though he would lament the lack of chance to compete in the games for the festival.

If Markd can't wait, then no big deal. Bandy will find adventure...

... or make it.

We need more than 4 folks on the mission. I'd guess around 6-7 based on what we fought. Markd knows he would have to wait until we get at least someone to replace Kellstrom, and then hopefully one or two more.

If he waits until Irving returns from his mission to Beith's Watch, Irving is in.

If the group is willing to stop by the tomb again, my new MU PC is in. He might be anyway, but more reluctantly.

Irving is on Friendly terms with the Bishop for the moment after his extra donations and can attempt to recruit retainers. He has a +1 penalty after Markd's interaction. Roleplay the request, specify how many you are trying to hire, and then perform that many rolls. Clerics of Baudh always request a full-share of loot - half from themselves and half for the God's beneficence.

Irving approaches the Bishop humbly. "Your Reverence, I know you had a chance to talk with Brother Mark about our last expedition, and I want to say that none of what went wrong with that outing was rightly his fault. The holy texts say It's a long road to the promised kingdom, or something like that, and as a pious man I take that seriously. There isn't a man of honor or piety who hasn't stumbled once or twice, and it's always Baudh's grace that lifts him back up, if his spirit is willing to stand and take another blow for His glory.

"I come today to see if I can ask a couple of favors of your Grace; first to send along one or two of your pious brothers who may have interest in furthering the Word of Baudh out there in the wild. You see, I'm a humble man and though I stand small in the eyes of Baudh I don't exactly know the word of the holy texts in full; nor do I read especial well, though I love a good tale. Having another along who might stand as a representative of our Lord would be helpful, should the unforeseen worst come to pass on our good pious Brother Mark.

"Further, or maybe instead if you don't see fit to bless us with that first gift, we would hope to purchase some token of Baudh's healing might--say, a potion or something of that kind--to bring with us out into the wild. I don't suppose you have something like that, that you'd be willing to donate or perhaps offer to us at a reduced cost so we might be more robust in Baudh's light...or offer healing as a token that might convert a soul, as chance might dictate."

First recruit:
Recruit [2d6] = 7+1
Recruit [2d6+1] = 2+1 = 3

Second recruit:
Recruit [2d6+1] = 7+1 = 8
Recruit [2d6+1] = 7+1 = 8
Recruit [2d6+1] = 6+1 = 7
Recruit [2d6+1] = 9+1 = 10

The Bishop considers Irving's words, then sighs. "The road is long, Irving, this is true. But one must have both strength and wisdom to make it to the end. This quest is important, however, and worthy of such aid. Brother Florin has requested to accompany you; I will let him know that he has my leave to do so... under your protection. If you can best an ogre in single combat, you are worthy to protect him."

Brother Florin joins you the next day.

The request for the potions was stated conditionally by Irving, if he didn't send a cleric. Which makes sense - if he's sending a cleric to administer to you personally every day under the dictates of Baudh's law then a potion is superfluous. You only need the potion if you let the Cleric die, which you're promising not to do this time. Pursuing the potion in addition would be casting doubt upon your ability to bring the cleric back alive. ;)

Group is:
  • Markd
  • Captain Bremen
  • Irving
  • Bandy Sandybanks
  • Florin the Cleric (Irving's retainer)
Are you ready to depart or are you going to recruit more? What day do you wish to set out? (May 30th or June 2nd?)

I imagine Bandy is still out, doing his dwarfmail axe trading, so not sure May 30th works.
I as a player, suspect it is much easier to let us get to June 2nd, so all PCs are operating at the same timeline once again. Plus, hopefully, we can get one or two more (Foxy for instance?)...

30 May is when Bandy should be returned. You're free to stay until 02 June for others, of course.

Well, he did say "Further, or maybe instead..." indicating he'd prefer both just the potion would be a nice consolation prize if no priests came, but I understand the way the bishop would take it.
