Torgyr, large sack 6

That was the 20 you first mentioned.

That leaves us with:

Quinn bag 6
Zim backpack 4
Ranulf backpack
Randolpho's backpack
Galen's backpack
Solaine's backpack.

So what we need to do is get 2.5 stone in each of the last 4 packs and sort who's going to carry what of the last few specialty items.
So this so far is 30 stone, after Zim drops his week's rations.

Galen can hold 1 3/6 or can get rid of his food and water and hold 3 3/6.
Solaine can hold 1 5/6, or 2 5/6 if she gets rid of her food and water, 3 2/6 if getting rid of torches, too.
Randolpho can hold 2/6 in his backpack, or 1 2/6 if he gets rid of his food, 1 5/6 if he gets rid of his food and his torches.
Ranulf can hold 3 3/6 in his backpack, or 3 5/6 if he gets rid of the food.

without getting rid of anything: 7 1/6, but Ranulf is moving at 30, so it's a slow crawl back to civilization.
If everybody drops food and water from their packs, then: 11 3/6 stone. If dropping torches, too, 12 3/6 stone.

So dropping the food and water to make it? Torches? Anything else? Trying to save Ranulf the weight?

Who's taking the sword, the wand, the brooch, and the scroll tube?

Can Ranulf drop his shield and carry the sword with no extra net encumbrance?

Ranulf eagerly empties his ration from his pack pack. Now this is more like it!

Well, he can drop his regular sword and replace it with the new one as an even swap. Dropping the shield and picking up the sword would reduce his overall encumbrance.

Randolpho will drop anything that can be replaced with copper from his pack. We can either pick it up later or replace it in town. He'll grab the brooch if no one has any concerns.

Ok. I don't want to drop his regular sword in case we need to fight on our way out. I'd rather not use the magic sword until we have better idea of what it is. For know he will empty his pack of food and water and drop his shield.

Ranulf almost giggles aloud as he rakes armfuls of coins and trinkets into his back pack."Going to celebrating back in Muntberg when we get back, boys! First round is on me!"

While we celebrate, who is watching out for orcs and kobolds? If the knocker wand can lock the door we could always do two trips.

Quinn is ready to set off.

That's the trouble with the knocker. We don't know if it's a limited number of charges type item or if it has other properties. What if it works and locks our things in but then is out of charges? I'd rather save it for when we might need to open something else and have a chance of it working than use it again here...I say we just leave our junk. If it's here when we return, great. If not, no major loss.

You locked yourselves in (and kobolds out), I think, no? You can keep it locked without magic, if someone chooses to stay inside.

Thats an interesting point. Though, who would want to stay locked in for the couple of days it takes us to get down the mountain and back? Any volunteers?

Seriously, though... you can go down the mountain with all the treasure if you leave your food behind.

Ranulf also wants to leave his shield behind to reduce his encumbrance, though it won't help him carry more treasure, though if other people want to "dig deep" and drop torches and stuff, he won't be extremely weighed down.

I can't quite tell if people are up for this tradeoff?

Who are carrying the heavy bags (is Quinn planning to carry that heavy bag?), who is taking the wand, and who is taking the tube with the paper in it?

The wand should probably go to U-tar vice Solaine. I will grab the tube to open and look at back at camp.
Randolpho is willing to drop a fair bit here to carry more treasure.

Yeah, I think the consensus seems to be dropping non-essentials so we can get it all on one trip. Let's see about checking these items for curses when we return. Perhaps U-Tar or one of the other henchmen can help Quinn with the sleeping bag?

Alright... you dump some stuff, and you head out.

I assume that you're taking your gold and leaving, yes? Or are you stopping at the face to ask a question?

Given our load, I think we should just book it.

Alright.

You drop some extra weight, and hoof it back to civilization.

Congratulations! With all of this treasure, everyone (who gets a full share) goes up a level!

Please roll your next Hit Die, and make your roll to try to improve a stat, and if necessary, update saving throws, etc. I don't think anybody gets any new proficiencies, yet, though (though Ranulf may want to select that unspecified one, finally!)

Once they return from the mountain and are safely in camp, Torgyr looks over the small mountain of trinkets and jewelry.

"Durric said he'd get us in with the gemsmith, get us better value for things we bring in, but I wonder at all this. Maybe we'd be better off making a trip to Adamas and hawking it there good and proper. We could take the mercs with us, for added muscle on the road. Whaddya think?"

Solaine says, "I agree. We should get Quinn's leg healed as well. I just hope we do not run into any more of the Beggar King's minions."

Will the builders still do our two storey building at one of the ruined towers. We should man it with the mercs'.
