Here are the rules for movement and other actions:

Movement coupled with other actions
Spellcasters may move half their normal distance during a round and still cast a spell. Keep in mind this can cause the spell to spill over into the next round. That will also use up the spellcaster's move for the next round.

Those wishing to fire missiles may also move at half normal distance in a round and fire a missile. This will limit the PC to one shot in a round, regardless of how many they are normally allowed.

In both cases, the movement must take place either entirely before or after missile fire/spell.

So, Angus can move 45' and shoot while Arnulf can move 60' and cast. That would put them 135' and 110' from the dragon's current position.

"Crap." Arnulf sees Angus begin running towards the dragon, not away. What he can't understand is that his own feet seem to be doing the same, carrying him towards a horrible and grisly death.

Arnulf has a movement rate of 120'. Can he move 60' and cast Light, or does he need a whole round to prepare the spell? I'm assuming the latter, just thought I'd ask. If that's the case, he will run roughly 60' towards the dragon, but fanning out from Angus so as not to present a concentrated target for the dragon's breath. He'll cast Light on the dragon's eyes as soon as possible (likely the next round.)

Edit: ok, so my own question made me go and read the rules like I should. Light is a 4 segment spell, so even if he rolled a 6, it still takes him 10 segments to move and cast, with the spell going off after the last segment. Correct?

Didn't see the edit. His movement would take 3 segments and casting 4, so that would be 7 segments total. With an initiative of 4-6 he would be able to get it all done in a single round. Arnulf's old hat at this spell, and he's trained with it for awhile, so it's perfectly reasonable to state that he will get to just within range and cast.

Angus runs full-speed toward the dragon, holding his fire until he's at closer range unless the dragon appears to be about to fly away (as opposed to towards him), in which case Angus will swap the magic arrow for a regular arrow and fire to get the dragon's attention.

Because that's a great idea.

Goranth waits for the spell to come to completion before making a move.

Goranth notices Angus and Arnulf running towards the dragon. Once Tempus' spell has been cast, Goranth is going to run for the wyrm but on a flanking path. He knows that physically he won't be much more than a mouthful so he is going to try and come up from behind where he can attempt to keep the wyrm somewhat distracted with shots from his sling.

I meant Tempus' spell. But if it will take that long and he is being shielded already Goranth will start flanking the wyrm now.
