Just to answer a question raised in private. Each of the player characters will get full xp and retainers or those npc'd will get 1/2 share xp and treasure can be divided subject to your own pirate rules.

I will be back soon from my year trekking the Silk Road countries and working for the tourist board in Baku, Azerbaijan. Having little break back in Scotland with my girls as they turn 18 this weekend.

How far is the Jelly from the room that Zoggrot is in (and any rooms we haven't explored yet)?

Looking at the ship plan in the pictures forum you can see a number 2 in the hallway. This is the rough area of the ochre jelly, spread out in a circle about 8 feet in diameter. So you could go from cabin 4 (captains cabin where you are) to 3 (Officer cabin with Iggway) without issue. Ferrol came out of the chapel room which is the top right corner room.

A small ochre free path is around the jelly on both sides but you may suspect the jelly pseudopods could reach out a few feet. So traverse those with caution. The jelly inches slowly about, resting after its last meal, though it grew in oroportion afterwards

There may be alternatives to consider such as choping it up, burning it, can it suffer the effects of 'sleep'?

Spring is here and very, very early in the season but having shown promise in training and seemingly raring to go, we let our two year old filly have a first run out yesterday ... :D

Zoey Boey 16/1

Flighty in paddock, jittery, reluctant to enter stalls. Headgear applied, last in. Broke well from stalls, unfavoured by outer draws (13 of 15), but sharply away. Cuts inside, makes ground, heads chasing pack in 5th, shows early speed, makes headway to shorten gap, overtakes rivals on outside, three lengths back in 3rd place. Over halfway, increasing gap behind to 4th, accelerates to close, chased leading pair on outer, favourite on the stand rail falters under pressure, driven approaching 2f out, good impression, ridden entering final 1 1/2f, began to reel in leader from 1f out, digs deep to challenge, eyeball to eyeball, kicks again under pressure, shows willingness and clean pair of heels, out paces rival, lead final 80yds and asserted, going clear, win by 2 1/2 lengths.

Firing into melee: At short range, characters may fire into melee without any penalty or danger to allied combatants. A miss will be counted as missing all combatants. At medium range and long range I will roll to see if the fired projectile hits a 3rd party or misses.
 

and yes, as the weapon is loaded already.

Ha! Wish I was that good all the time. I would point punters to a virtual race which with industry expert input has had some remarkable results.

“In 2017 the algorithm came up with six of the top 10 finishers and the runner-up in the real race won The Virtual Grand National. In 2018 it selected six of only 12 finishers and the winner.”

For myself, I fancy Rock the Kasbah. Solid jumper (never fallen), proven stamina and top jockey. Goes well fresh and primed for this since last year, handicapped 10lbs better than last years winner and current favourite, Tiger Roll.

For those new in the group, Szmodics is a rogue pirate currently doing a side investigation for Captain Lazarus as Stirling was away from the game after I restarted it. Presently his character is hiding in a lumber yard stables covered in straw and hippogriff shit as he avoids being sniffed out by some guard Boggles whilst attempting to some steal kegs of retardant resins and frigate blueprint plans.

Question for Pocc; I think he's aware that Stubble picked up a morning star that shocked the mage. Would Pocc ask about using it if folks went downstairs?
