Re: Parley...OOC chat and questions for player characters.
Hey all. I have a quick question. Do we have a roster list? I'd like to make sure I don't make a clone of someone already here. That, and maybe help fill out any glaring holes.
Re: Parley...OOC chat and questions for player characters.
I looked at who had said they were still in and the characters they had listed. Honestly, the group looks very diverse and well rounded. I'd say go for something that interests you.
"Stubble" fits that for me in a few ways. I want to see if I can play a Dwarf well; not just the greedy and grumpy short person, but more. I also like long range marksmanship and artillery, so that's a double win.

Re: Parley...OOC chat and questions for player characters.
I am, as per my usual, confused. Is the corpse that Zoggrot fished up wearing Fenis's armor—i.e., it's clearly a quickly-dead Fenis?Spearmint wrote:Fenis fell into the seaweed mass below. His wooden shield half afloat in the kelp. The murky and ichor stained waters do not reveal any bubbles of air. Though for a second when looking down, you think you see the 1/2 orc struggle to break the surface. Struggling obviously, his weight of armour bears him under.
Zoggrot uncoils a length of rope and casts the grapnel into the waters like a giant fishing hook. With Alderhay, Bello and Goldie securing the end, the team take a few casts to finally snare something of their own. Feeling the weight of a body, the team pull and pull. Emerging from the seabed in a tangle of kelp and Strangleweed roots is a now half skeletal body dangling in a sodden cloak with the grapnel hook poking through the ribs.
Slowly undulating with leafy tentacles of kelp, the second marine Strangleweed senses the water thrashing and envelopes the corpse in soggy foliage.
And are there still active enemies?

Re: Parley...OOC chat and questions for player characters.
Was Sig able to discern anything from the scribbled graffiti on the deck or bowsprit?
Re: Parley...OOC chat and questions for player characters.
Okay two answrrs. Sorry for the long post. Zoggrot can reasonably ask the question, as I hoped a character may do (preferably makIng the remark IC). The skeleton caught on the grapnel snd raised with the kelp roots does not wear chainmail armour.
Strangleweed is actually a creature formed by druidic enchantment gone awry. (any marine druids about?). They drown prey and feast on them slowly. One weed git shit and submerged in a stream of ichor. Its' tendrils cease moving and float in the kelp mass. The second is covering the skeleton and presumably above where Fenis sank.
Graffiti wise, the figurehead gives the impression of just vandalism. Words of warning or names are scratched in the wood or designs around the deck abound.
'Earnie died here, at the hands of the pirates', 'Beware the light' 'Beware the night', 'Freedom or death', 'We are lost and without hope', 'they chained bodies and souls'. 'tell Laura I love her...'

Re: Parley...OOC chat and questions for player characters.
Thanks. I wasn't thinking that Zoggrot would be fishing around so much as that he'd lower the rope and hope that Fenis would grab hold. If Zoggrot didn't feel anything grab hold, he'd lower the rope until he felt something "bite."
Sorry if I didn't explain that well in my IC post.

Re: Parley...OOC chat and questions for player characters.
Yes I got Zoggrots action just right. I rolled for 'a bite' and the skeleton won ...
Re: Parley...OOC chat and questions for player characters.
Ah. And here I was assuming that the skeleton was inanimate.
