The Gods

#1 Post by acererak »

Here are some of the gods of the realm:

Telketh- the unspeakble, the lord of the underworld, father of all infernal beings ( demons and devils), they say it was Telketh who wispered across the frozen wastes to the Archmage Lazarus and caused Lazarus to become one of the most diabolical sorcerers of all time. Telketh's followers seek a way to bring him into the mortal world, bringing all under his dominion. Telketh's servants in the mortal world, The Four Horsemen, are the stuff of legend and are only whispered about.......

Silvrain- the goddess of the moon. Her worship was once the official religion of the Empire. Her paladins were a mighty force for good. It is said that she withdrew her grace from the Empire when it became to corrupt and thus the empire fell. Her symbol is the three phases of the moon )O( or the double headed axe. She is known to give her faithful followers prophetic dreams, she protects lost travelers and bestows magics upon the devout. Her worship is rare now because many perceive that Silvrain abandoned them.

Karrs- The god of magic and of eldritch learning. Karrs is said to have once been a mortal so learned in magic that he ascended to godhood along with his brother Nakkar. The book and the lantern are the symbols of Karrs. He is often depicted as a hooded man whose face cannot be seen. Not much is known of his cult.

Nakkar- The god of thieves and of blind luck. Many a scoundrel climbing a rope over a castle wall has whispered a prayer to the god of larceny. He is depicted as a handsome young man with blonde hair dressed in leather armor. Nakkar is also called upon to woo the opposite sex. He is a god of hedonists but not necessarily an evil god.

Cernunnos- The horned god, the god of the old religion. The god of deep forests and the great hunt. He is oft depicted in the image of a satyr or in the image of a man whose face is made of green leaves. He is called the green man by some.

Emrys- The sun god. The morninglord, brother of Cernunnos, destroyer of the undead. Healer, bringer of fire to man, god of strength. It is said he is particularly fond of man and looks out for him. The Emrys games are held in midsummer and consist of feats of strength as well as endurance. The sun disc is his sign.

Akkara- No one knows what people first worshipped her, she is said to have been worshipped since time began. Akkara is the goddess of the grain. She dies at harvesttime and lives in the underworld until springtide when she is reborn.

The Iron God- He is known as the deep one, he who guides, the silent one. It is said his true name is known only to his priests. The Iron God is another ancient god, his priests received the dead and guided them in their journey to the afterlife. The Iron God's main center of worship in these parts is the Isle of the Dead off the coast of Vartis in the Mithril Lake.
