Gideon could've been a passenger for a while now, but not have gone out on the shuttle. Milly and Rebecca could also be passengers, having gotten on at Motherlode with Conrad, or just before that when we finished our previous job at Red sun.

All 3 can eventually become part of the family/crew, like Book (initially just traveling the 'verse) and Simon+River (getting far away from the core).

Gideon and Milly could've decided to get on the shuttle for this rescue to help out - just doin' good works, or because their goals involve (a) crew member(s) like Inara (allowing her to get to places on the rim and border to expand her client list).

Instead of passengers, they could've been hired, if that'll work better with their backstories and goals.

I am fine with whatever is decided here. Our current near-death situation is sufficient, imho, to turn "new faces" into "core crew."

My only desire in this equation is to arrive quickly at a high level of IC trust and an OOC consensus that we are going to avoid where possible the "do I trust my friends" plots.

By getting rid of my (negotiate) specialty, I can either get another specialty or a d6 signature asset. Any ideas?

Specialties:
influence (calm)
trick (misdirection)

Signature assets:
d6 Browncoat POW contacts
d6 criminal contacts

Should I swap out my Debt distinction for Ship's pilot? I'd just keep debt as being part of Percy's backstory.

I think you should focus on what story you are excited to tell and not what is useful. You wanted his business acumen and his indenture for the ship be key to his story and I don't see that as a problem.

I agree. I would focus on what's most important to you Jack. I know classic (and some newer) GM's try to keep a party even, and force the players to cater to what he has planned, and there is something to be said about and learned from playing a character outside your comfort zone, but for this campaign, my primary goal is to focus on the character interaction, the role-playing aspects. I'd rather you breathe creative life into your character than try to accommodate what the party needs, skill-wise. Besides, having a lopsided party has it's own benefits, plot-wise, which can be fun and exciting in its own way.

Took the signature asset: d6 Browncoat POW contacts.

While the influence (calm) specialty would've made more sense for someone with no shooting and fighting training, this just seems like more fun since Percy doesn't believe in the Browncoat-way despite having many as friends.

I apologize if I made this kind of slow going, but I just didn't want to be slowing anyone down because I didn't know what to do. I know how dice pools work now so that's good. Once we get going I am sure we can do it the first way where you include all the beats and flashbacks and all that.

Ha! I was feeling the same way. Probably we all are. I plan on plugging along at any rate we end up going.

The Edmund Longabaugh character sheet is "finished." I added Belief (à la Shepherd Book) as a Signature Asset; I assigned his free Know specialty as farming, since that's what he knows. Any suggestions on tweaks?

Now that I'm "here," is there any creative input or help or research that is wanted/needed for the ship or the team or for anything else?

FantasyChic, Quaid,
Yep, there are several of us taking things slowly. No on one in particular is slowing things down. Just takes time to get into the swing of things. Luckily everyone is being patient so far. I think things will pick up pretty quickly once we get into the swing of things.

Quaid,
You are more than welcome to assist Jack and Marullus with the shuttles an putting the finishing touches on the Main ship in the Let's Build A Ship... thread.

They're not ladders going down like on Fireflies. The smallest rooms have 1, or an empty space sharing 1 with a neighbouring room. The other rooms have 2 each.

Too small for restrooms, wrong number to be showers or space suits since the bigger rooms only have single beds.

Maybe storage compartments accessible from outside? I don't know what the empty areas would be tho.

Just a heads up...I'm still here. Been waiting for Antman to update something since I really don't know what to post, other than having Milly say something. Still around, just waiting

Does Bosco want help from Gideon and Percy with the repairs? They're both d6 complications, so the recovery rolls would be pretty easy and even if they failed would remove the complications. Any lent dice would only be helpful for getting a BDH die.

I'm in the same boat as FC n waiting for antman to reply about complications. But I'm on vacation starting tomorrow with little web access for over a week so I'll post tonight without the input.

He'd love the assist from both of you. Then I can do the d4 switch to gain pps. I'll put something up and roll my own dice tonight. Zhym and Jack can put in their own posts with rolls later.
