#1 Post by acererak »

Exceptional Intelligence and Wisdom- Magic Users with an intelligence ability score 13 or higher will gain one bonus first level spell per day. Clerics with wisdom ability score of 13 or higher will gain one bonus first level spell per day. A first level cleric with an exceptional wisdom is able to cast one cleric spell per day.

Exceptional Dexterity- Thieves with a dexterity 13 or higher gain a bonus to all thieves’ abilities except for hear noise. The conversion is 5% for each +1 of ability score modifier.

Additional Attacks- Fighters gain a second attack at level 7 and a third at level 15.

Hit Die: Thieves use d6 as hit die.

- Do elves with high intelligence also receive an additional bonus spell?

- Do elves or dwarves receive bonus attacks at 7th level, or just fighters?

- Do halflings with high dexterity gain bonuses on their ability to remain unseen?

You would actually get the second fighter attack in my interpretation :)

I couldn't find anything in the LL rules and I don't have my B/X rules in front of me.

Is there any official rule about dual-wielding weapons? If not, is there a house rule?

I'm thinking it's not possible:
Page B25 wrote:"Missile fire is never adjusted by Strength. Hand-to-hand combat is never adjusted by Dexterity. A character may not attack more than once in one round."

Technically, that rule doesn't say anything about wielding two weapons at once. It just says that you can only attack with one of them per round. ;)

I would be happy with a +1 To Hit bonus when dual wielding, with primary hand hitting on an even roll and off-hand hitting on an odd roll.

And both hitting on a 20.

(I can't take credit for this suggestion. It is one of the rules in the rules-light PbP game I play. You can use a two-handed weapon for +1 damage, a shield for +1 AC, or two weapons for +1 To Hit.)

Those rules sound like what was written in Philotomy Juraments' OD&D Musings which is a document I like very much. I'm going with +1 to hit for dual wield. A two handed sword will do 1d8+2 in this game representing a greater min/max damage range than a longsword. We are playing with the optional damage by weapon type btw.
