Would a single person be able to open it, or would it require multiple people working together?

And you think zombie cows are not bad....

Zombie Cow

No Enc.: 1d6(4d6)
Alignment: Chaotic
Move: 120’ (40’)
Armor Class:8
Hit dice: 4
Attacks: 1 (Weapon)
Damage: 1d4 or weapon
Save: F2
Moral: 12
Hoard: none

Summoned by the feared spell "raise Livestock" this is a normal cow turned into a Zombie. It walks on its hind legs and though magical means can use weapons. They are fond of Polearms and other two handed weapons. If three or more Zombie cows approach a living person, they must save vs spell or suffer a -1 to hit as they are hypnotized/paniced by the flabby flesh bouncing in their general direction.

Beware the zombie cow!

The door looks like one reasonably strong person could pull it up provided its not stuck.

Thanks for the welcome Fellas (and fellaettes?)! I'll do my best to be a decent fellow player in this adventure!

Acererak: I just wanted to ask/tell you a couple of things (and if you wanna take any of this onto PMs to not pollute this thread; just let me know! :) )

-First....my work schedule (I work 12 hour shifts on different days each week) means that I'll have some days where I'm posting a lot and others where I may not even be able to log on....if the actions is ever getting real fast and furious and I'm not posting anything; please take whatever actions you think are most logical for the character....i don't want to slow down the adventure! :)

-Second: I could only find one post about Durin...where he's sitting in the corner reading. Did I miss anything? Just trying to get a better "feel" for the character...if there's anything out there....

-Continuing my Durin questions.....I notice he's got some equipment; but no spells or languages chosen.....I see your house rule that will allow him to memorize an extra 1st Level spell a day (THANK YOU!).....but what are your rules about which spell(s) he has in his spell book? Also, can I choose the languages he knows?

-Finally; this might be a question that Durin wouldn't know the answer too; but are there "magic shops" that sell things like Scrolls or Potions? Anything nearby if there are such places? (I ask because I notice he has a fair bit of coin with 90+ gp and was thinking of a way to use it)

Thanks again for the welcome and after getting these answers and "finishing up" Durin; I'll start posting in the thread.....assuming he would have known about the trip to the SHerrif's office and either been there quietly in the background; or overheard about the quest and joined in?

Looking forward to joining in the game!

-Max

If Ace doesn't or can't transfer the entry of the Durin character in the Player Characters over to your name, then just make a new entry in that thread and write it up yourself. Then Ace (or I) can modify edkradicalz's thread to hide (or delete) the entry.

As far as Durin's personality goes, there was so little given already, I would suggest you just come up with whatever personality you want to use and go with it.

Welcome to the game!

Okay; Durin's sheet is done and up on the PC thread; so if you guys want to delete or hide or whatever the earlier version; cool! As far as Durin's personality...I'm thinking "Scrappy Doo" with spells! :)

Last question: Acererak, I know you said that the Sherrif would have boated Durin over; am I too assume that means he is with everyone else; or should I make a post with him in the boat coming over?

If you want to give a post about him coming over in the boat, you can. If you want to forego it for the sake of expedience I won't fault you either.

So - the MO

How about:

5'
Boldus
Caby
Kytan
Eugene - possilby scouting out front?
Durin
Atticus

10'
Boldus/Caby
Durin/Eugene
Atticus/Kytan

Thoughts?

I have no problem with either proposed order. I'm just having Eugene get things rolling by going down the trap door first. She doesn't have to scout or be out in front once we've "really" get going.

With the exception of Eugene scouting ahead I am assuming this marching order down the steps:

Boldus
Caby
Eugene
Durin
Kytan
Atticus

Who has the light source right now?

The torch was offered to Atticus and Brother Kytan. I think Atticus, leading from the rear, didn't accept it. Kytan?

Then let it be yours. The normal marching order should still hold, but for purposes of this initial entry stairway, you would have followed right behind Eugene.

Im using the damage by weapon type as per B27 Variable Weapon Damage, however a two handed sword does d8+2 in my game. Fighting with two weapons gives a +1 to hit.
