Spanning is giving us 4 extra in our spell book for each level so that makes 8\7\7\6 in the book.

Also my players handbook puts you at 10th level if you are a straight up wizard with 250001 exp. And you would get 4\4\3\2\2memorized.

I concur with Darkmane, you character should be 10th level. I posted a link where you might find some books on this thread. A 10 level mage would be able to cast:
8 x cantrips per day
4 x 1st level spells per/day
4 x 2nd level spells per/day
3 x 3rd level spells per/day
2 x 4th level spells per/day
2 x 5th level spells per/day

Your spellbook would contain:
11 x cantrips per day
8 x 1st level spells per/day plus read magic and detect magic
8 x 2nd level spells per/day
6 x 3rd level spells per/day
4 x 4th level spells per/day
4 x 5th level spells per/day

Make sense? Let me know if not and we'll get you sorted.
Totally makes sense. I was using the old "Red Box Set" for the XP/Levels & Spells Memorized. I have bookmarked your link - thanks for that! Not sure what happened to my two PHB, DMG, and MMI - so pretty bummed about that. Up until yesterday if someone had asked me where they were I would've said on my bookshelf. :(

Anyway - my character is completely up to date and finished. I did buy a horse, barding, etc. and deducted the gold from my total. Nothing else to add - ready to go.

It looks like you were able to get everything sorted out Sumo. I found that link to be very helpful too.

I like to have a print book in front of me and a .pdf open at the same time.

Hey,

Drive Thru RPG has PDF versions of the books for $9.99 each. I know it might not be much consulation for losing your hardbacks, but thought I'd share. They're really great scans.

I still have my old copies of the books but it's nice to have the PDFs also, throw em on your phone/laptop or whatnot.

I was able to piece together a complete set of the 1E miniture rule books over time. An Italian company made exact reproductions of the original books quite a few years ago. Pretty cool, I keep them in the wood box with a set of dice with the other games in the house (monopoly, backgammon, etc...) in case we have company with an AD&D urge. Here's a pic:

Sweet. I like the dice, too.
These are ghouls. They hang out in graveyards, they have long tongues, and they eat people.

I bought a Condominium Friday 4/15, so I'm moving this week and next week. This means I may not have internet for a while ~ up to a week ~ so please NPC me as needed until I post my return. Thanks!

Cool. I've got a bunch of buddies who live in Traverse and area. Nice place. Wish I still lived up there... NC is too hot, too far from the lakes.
