Just checking. He hadn't posted since the first combat I don't believe. No worries.

Edit - Got it - I think viewing from my phone (as I usually do) is the issue - the colours are harder to differentiate. On my laptop it's more clear...

Initiative Question

#45 Post by dmw71 »

Moving initiative question and discussion to this OOC thread: viewtopic.php?f=37&t=534&p=12324#p12322

I don't claim to be well versed in the 2E rules, but isn't the 'Dexterity' reaction adjustment only for surprise rolls, not initiative?

You are correct. Good eye as I did not add that you can use your dexterity reaction modifier as an initiative modifier in the house rules thread. I will add it now. It was a house rule I always used with my groups as it makes sense to me.

I've always thought DEX should adjust init when using individual rolls, as well.

Doesn't help me here, but it is something I'll house rule from now on.

I'd agree with this as well.

I think the 'Dexterity' reaction adjustment would have more to do with individual reaction times (e.g. initiative) than it would surprise (to me, 'Wisdom' might the more appropriate attribute to use for surprise), but the rules state otherwise so I was just seeking clarification.

Regarding my critical hit. My bad on the roll (I have updated my macro). Just in case you want me to re-roll, here is that result:

Natural 1 or 20: Tens [1d10] = 5 Ones [1d10] = 6

I haven't left you guys. The Midwest storms the last couple days left me without power. They are saying at least until tomorrow. I am not at home and all my material is on the main pc there as well as my books. I will catch up ASAP and keep you updated. It shouldn't be to much longer.

Stay well. No power equals no air conditioning which, given the heat we've been dealing with in the Midwest (I live just west of Chicago), is not a good thing.

Yeah, stay cool, Omega. No worries on the posts. Hope you get power restored soon!

We capped 108 last week. It's a bit cooler today (99), but supposed to be back up to 104 for the 4th.

The worst part of it all (we're grateful we have power) is that I have a 23 month old with lots of energy to burn and we're so limited on what we can do outside in that kind of heat. And he has to burn off that energy somehow...

Wow - sounds a nightmare I hate it that hot. Lucky for me we have the usual UK summer so far - raining nearly every day and struggling to get to 70. Spain was overcast/humid and around 85-90 and that was enough for me!

It's more than just actual temperature (although, that is bad enough), but it's also very humid. That is the killer because it makes it feel so much hotter than it actually is. Not fun.

There currently are unclaimed items on the tower floor. See below and let me know who if anyone is carrying them. You do not have to take any items found obviously but just letting you know.

Cheers Dave - about time I had some luck!

Did we take the coins etc in the end? If not maybe Cast can pick them up before we leave...

By the way how do arrows work OM - is it first on init and then second at end of round?
