Re: OOC Babble
No problem. I should have mentioned that in the first place. That was his whole reason for taunting the gnoll, try to draw the attack from the most dangerous opponent and have it attack at a penalty in the process.OGRE MAGE wrote:Damn!Scott308 wrote:Umrick Histix, Gnome Fighter
Rob, when the gnoll attacked Umrick, did you take into account that he is at -4 to attack gnomes?
No, I did not. And now I don't remember what I rolled.
I will add that 1 point back on your total and say that your armor took all of the damage.
Sorry about that one.

The saving throws for a 1st level Cleric/Druid are as follows:coil23 wrote:Doubtful
Doubtful tries desperately to drag Alec back to the group's original position behind the beachward wall of casks. He is keeping low and attempting to keep the closest wall of casks between him and whatever is deeper in the cave and about to unleash something.
save vs spells (19)[1d20] = 6
10 - 13 - 14 - 16 - 15
You 6 is obviously still a fail, but I don't want you to cheat yourself.

Oh, in that case I feel much better!

Those old ones were the 0 level saves that I gave each of you when we started.

Re: OOC Babble
Cool!
I've never DM'd a TPK before.
Maybe someone should have realized that might happen BEFORE charging. Especially since you already knew that their group was larger than yours, has an obvious spellcaster as their leader, and had already sounded the general alarm. Or did you think those whistles were just guys practicing to start up a brass band?
Let's see how this plays out before completely losing faith and pointing fingers, but......
Please keep in mind that fleeing melee is also a terrible strategy that will result in at least one attack of opportunity, and possibly another depending on initiatives.
Sorry.

Hmm. Last TPK I was in, Rob also was one of the players as well. Frank Mentzer killed us all at the first Gamehole Con. That is where Ogre Mage and I met.

I want no such anniversaries!
Or are you suggesting that if we sacrifice Burly that the gods may be appeased and allow the rest of us to live?

Re: OOC Babble
I wanted to throw my il and set it on fire creating a flame wall between s and them, but that died when alecd jumped the barrels.
trying to undertsand where everyone is, jervis moved past the casks to help alec, if I back up now and set them on fire will all of our party be behind the cask wall?

Yes.
But, it takes time to light the oil.
You could be attacked depending on initiatives.

I hadn't intended for Umrick to flee combat, but wasn't clear enough. Now, he will just have to kill all the bad guys.
I don't know, man. Your intentions seemed pretty clear to me.Scott308 wrote:Umrick Histix, Gnome Fighter
Hearing the group planning on retreating, Umrick will withdraw from combat with the gnoll and try to make his way back to the others.
I would personally much rather that you kill all of the bad guys though.
To be totally honest, I have no idea what the plan of attack even is here. Was there ever a plan?

Re: OOC Babble
I intended for him to make a fighting withdrawal like he did before, but I definitely did not specify that. Reading what I wrote, it looks like he is just getting away from the gnoll with no thought toward defending himself. My fault for not being clear.
