Daro would not have been able to cast another. As a first level magic-user he can only memorize one spell per day. He was preparing to cast when he was hit by an arrow so he lost it. There's no spell casting for him until tomorrow and he's too far away from the doorway to use either his staff or dagger.

Okay guys! Finally worked in a House Rules section. Take a gander. These rules go in effect as of today.

I noticed a few nibbles on the recruiting effort. Think any will swallow the hook? We could easily return to town at this point to heal up, replace lost equipment (Sammy! ;) ) and expand the party or replace members. Except Duin. Alastair's not letting him go!

We could also ask at RPGG's forums for S&W and core 4.

I have a daughter, Hailey, who is 15 and wishes to play in our game. She knows how to play yet doesn't have the time for face to face tabletop rpgs, yet a PbP would fit in her lifestyle. She will be playing under my name and I will be stepping in for her character during those times when she cannot do so herself. I was lamenting to her that the group could use more players but no one was joining and she said she wouldn't mind helping out. So give her a warm welcome and let's throw her to the wolves.

Aloha Hailey, and welcome. If you want to play a cleric, I can have Alfri leave the party in favor of your new cleric (or you playing cleric Willow or Alfri). If you want to play a fighter, I could have Sammy leave the party, and I could play Alfri.

And don't worry about wolves, those were rats. With deadly poisonous bites. And there's lots of goblins. And possibly a lich.
Actually, wolves may have been a safer bet...

We have another new player coming on board. I'd like to welcome Morgoth to the group here. Details are forthcoming...

Greetings Hailey and/or Morgoth! Our intrepid band of adventurers are doing their bit to boost the local economy, probably more so than is wise. Feel free to bring lots of coin or supplies - you'll be needing it.

Has anyone heard from mumble? He hasn't answered the roll call.

Another bit of news. There is another player on US that wishes to join yet this player, for whatever reason, is loathe to roll his stats and would rather have me assign him the numbers. I would rather have everyone follow the same rules (I hate making exceptions when everyone else is playing by the rules previously set down). It's hard to get new players and I worry if I let this person in our game, the person may want me to make more exceptions or at the worst, be a rules lawyer.

I've sent a message to mumble on RPG geek in case his unseenservant email triggers stopped working.

Laerwen and Morgoth, do you want to meet us in the inn, on the way to the keep, or at the keep? Alfri's still at the graveyard and soon heading to the inn, and Sammy's at the inn ready to get back to the keep as soon as possible because he just spent his last gold on provisions.

Whoops! Mumble is here! For some reason google, in it's infinite wisdom, decided that mails from this site are now considered junk

Daro was stuck in his room all this time, recuperating from his most grievous wounds (from his hitherto unwounded perspective), and maybe also coming to grips, in his own unique way, with his imminent mortality.

Hailey, where do you want Leaf to walk and watch? Being a missile expert, behind Duin and see if they can do a Legolas/Gimli, or away from Duin but still back enough to get several arrows off before melee? If she's stealthy, always with Alastiar going from the back outdoors, to the front indoors?

Outdoors:
1. Alfri
2. Sammy
?
3. Daro
4. Duin
?
5. Alastair (well behind)

Indoors:
1. Alastair
2. Alfri
3. Sammy
4. Daro
5. Duin

Double watches:
1. Daro + Duin
2. Duin + Alastair
3. Alastair + Alfri
4. Alfri + Sammy
5. Sammy + Daro

Single watches:
same order, 1st person only.
