For clarification: Gordon does not have the gun aimed at Eddie he has it aimed at the ones that wont leave him alone and is talking about those whom will not leave Josephine alone not Eddie. I know you're stuck with hephalump

Josephine Clark slapped the hands that grabbed at her, "I may not be a church going girl, but I am sure God frowns at this sort of thing!" she stated, backing up towards Gordon and his gun.

"They will come again in fulfillment of the scriptures!" exhorts Rev. Hillman.

The investigators find themselves in an increasingly abhorrant dilemma as flesh is bared, abused, slapped. Dozens of congregants blaspheme.

"I feel the rising!" someone shouts.

Sounds of corrupt copulation echo about the cavern.

"Do not stop brothers and sisters!"

Gordon draws his gun. He is jumped from men behind and the sides and a shot rings out. A woman screams in pain. Gordon is overcome.

"Hold him down!"

The waters in the cavern are stirring.

"Settle down now purty woman!"

Josephine protests. She struggles to get loose of the women (1d100 roll in a Str. Vs. Str. roll.)

"Don't resist their love!"

Eddie partakes in the terrible rites. The reporter's show of virile bravado masks dismay and sinking hope.

The little deformed girl cries out giddily: "They're here!"

I can hear, "He's got a purty mouth!"
Eddie hoped that his blasphemy is worth it--that he will be accepted as one of the church of Joad's congregation. He tried to "feel the rising" too, but wondered if he could convincingly fake it? . . .

Gordon seriously wishes they never decided to come to this town.

In between grunts and puffs, Eddie asked: "Are you all children of," he steals a glance, "of them? What about us guys with--er--regular parents?"

Gordon!" he shouted, "you gotta partake, man."

No thanks man. Besides I'm tackled and pinned down at the moment.

Gordon too repulsed at the suggestion "No thank you Mister Sharp. I'm a bit busy at the moment being restrained."

- Sanity Loss - Gordon [1d3] = 2, Eddie [1d8] = 8, Josephine [1d8] = 7. Gordon's die roll was lower as he made the Sanity check.
- When 5 or more Sanity points are lost in a single encounter, an Idea roll is done. A success means you realize the full significance of what you have seen, and go into shock/temporarily insane.
- Shock? Idea roll - Eddie [1d100] = 89 Josephine [1d100] = 66. Neither Eddie nor Josephine made it, which means they DO NOT go into shock/temporary insanity.
- There is a positive side effect of going temporarily insane. On your first such experience, you get to add +5% to your Cthulhu Mythos skill.
- Josephine Str. check [1d100] = 16. I rolled for last round as I didn't see yours. 16 is good considering there are two of them.
- Gordon has a half-dozen cultists on him so he is overwhelmed.
As the creatures emerge, Josephine screams, her mind overwhelmed with the horrors before her. The Miskatonic professor, who was successfully fending off the two women trying to grab her, swoons and almost becomes transfixed in shock. But she pushes the fear down as the two women congregants are joined by a misshapen man to try to pull down Josephine (two Str. 1d100 rolls please.)

The women congregants kneel down before the horrific fish-men and engage in hideous perversity. One of the deep ones grabs a male congregant during this and tears his head clean off. Blood geysers from the stump, pouring over its chest and the two naked women kneeling before it.

Eddie yells in shock at the amphibian monstermen, transfixed at the sight. Flesh thumps against him and he looks down.

"Don't stop! Deeper into my ocean!" cries the woman Eddie is engaged with in terrible commerce. Eddie tries to fight back the vomit rising in his throat (Con. check 1d100 vs. 10 on Resistance Chart.)

Naked congregants pile on top of the struggling Gordon. In the tumult the P.I.'s gun goes off, blowing the face off a hump-backed man. Blood and brain bits scatter across Gordon's face. The gumshoe is dragged over to the nearest creature of the deep. Huge clawed hands reach down for him...

Actions!

Gordon tries to reach for his gun... but the pile of people atop him makes it difficult. Remembering that he still has a knife the P.I. reaches for that and attempts to stab at the eyes of thing reaching for him.

[1d100] = 34

Eddie was not sick, but the rancid taste at the back of his throat was testament to a near purge of his lunch. He pummelled away in a swoon, fantasising about Dorothy Gale: what he longed to do with his sweetheart but of course never did do; he remembered her outraged expression and slap when he slid his fingers between her blouse's buttons. His memories switched to the tart he had slept with, he and the boys had been drinking in one of Boston's sleazier districts where they had picked her up after they were thrown out of a bar at closing time. He had taken his turn with her, was he second or third? Eddie shuddered; and realised he was convulsing, an unwanted orgasm which left him spent, his head lolling on the fat wench's ham-like shoulder. "I'm done," he murmured, a tear sliding down his cheek.
