Not seeing Whitsell back down from his high pedestal, the shady gem dealer and the man interested in buying said gems makes a run for it. They head towards the back door, the front being blocked by Whitsell. The two knock over tables and chairs along the way, trying to block any pursuers or at least slow them down. They anger the people around them and the guards nearby start to get up and do something about it.

Actions?

Whitsell chases after them, hopeful that Flynn or someone has the back door covered.

It looks like Whitsell is pushing the two shady individuals into a trap. The group members situated at the back door entrance will have a surprise round to act upon. This one is automatically in your favor given the preparation ahead of time.

Let me know how you all want to handle this and I will provide an update accordingly.

Flynn will have his thin blade pointing at neck level towards the back door, waiting for it to open. When it does:
"Gentlemen. Leaving so soon? My friend...the demon slayer...would have words with you first. "
If they try to push by him he will aim for legs.

Deceidon, who was headed for the back door, follows after the two gentlemen to close the vice.

Whitsell, makes sure he leaves enough distance to react to any sudden move.

The shady gem merchant rushes through the back door and the other man follows closely behind. They are stopped abruptly by a blade held to their neck level. A swashbuckler of a man holds the blade and with a confident grin says, "Gentlemen. Leaving so soon? My friend...the demon slayer...would have words with you first." The man behind the merchant notices the futility of trying the back door and turns around to try the front again. He is stopped by Deceidon just as suddenly.

"Surely you didnt mean to flee from justice, did you?"
The shady merchant knows his position looks grim, but he does not want to face any more jail time. He resists. Pulling a concealed dagger out of his coat, he tries to push the blade away and make a duck and run for it. The man who was to purchase gems from the merchant mutters but one word as he sees and hears this display: "Damn."

Those who would act in this small event, go ahead and roll for initiative and state your actions.

Whitsell doesnt seem the least bit worried about the merchant. Flynn can swipe him with a quick flare.
He instead focuses on the remaining man.

It appears your business has come to an end. Would you care to state your name?

Initiative D6 [1d6] = 3+2

"Foolish." says Flynn as he stabs at the mans leg then slaps his arse with the flat of his blade. "A poke as reward and a spank for amusement! "

Rapier to hit roll [1d20+7] = 18+7 = 25 Damage [1d6+3] = 5+3 = 8

The shady gem dealer fails in moving quick enough to stop the blade with his dagger. His leg suffers as a result and is paddled to the ground. He drops his dagger and raises his hands, the man finally shows some sense.

The man remains silent as Whitsell asks for his name. Deceidon shoves the man to the ground, inviting a panicked gasp. The scattering of a ring against wooden floor can be heard shortly after the fall. The man moans as this happens and starts to crawl towards it quickly. The voice, it starts to sound familiar...

Deceidon finds tracing the voice in his memories to be a tricky feat indeed. It sound's familiar, but their is a certain vagueness to it that he cannot shake, a generic sort of sound that seems fake. It is only after the man growls in anger upon seeing his ring being stepped on that Deceidon realizes who it is. Fenrin.

Looking over at the table Matkinsai sits at, the shadow warrior realizes that the mage has already caught on to this and smiles approvingly as he shakes his head.

Whitsell keeps his sword ready to swipe.
He speaks,
You...have a lot to answer for.

"Fenrin, you are under arrest by order of the king," says Deceidon. He nods at the guards and others, steps back dragging the ring with his foot, and grabs it.

Upon hearing the vile name spoken, many of the people in the crowd gasp and back away from Fenrin as he the mage picks himself back up. He dusts his clothing off and glares Deceidon. "Do not think that taking my ring will render me powerless," he hisses, having dropped all pretenses by now as a silence floods the room. Fenrin reaches for something, in his coat, but is stopped by the piercing sound of an arrow. The mage looks dazedly at a now open window. He then slowly looks to his chest and finds an arrow tip protruding from it, staggering in pain and confusion as he does this. The 'faceless' sailor, who has been watching the whole scene unfold, crosses his arms and smiles. Fenrin's eyes drift between the sailor's face and Matkinsai, a look of terror and grave realization now streaked across his face. He collapses to the floor and drops a gnarled wooden stick of sorts from his hand.

Murmurs and excited gasps start to slip from the crowd.

"Is he-?"
"Could it be?!"
"What just..."

Flynn reaches for whatever the mage was pulling from his cloak and slides it across the floor toward Deceidon, just in case...

No one in your group fired the arrow (no rolls were made by any group members), and the arrow came from outside, striking Fenrin in the back, via the conveniently opened window. The character that did perform the roll succeeded due to Fenrin being disarmed of his ring.
